Usually assistants from the previous cycle get preference.

Usually the Assistants or if the Head Coach applies again they will get a 2nd opportunity.

A lot of those who get the gigs are the ones who are seen at Camps sucking up to Peter Lonergan.

Not sure why pro level assistants don't get these opportunities when the schedule allows. Maybe they don’t want to? But it seems it would be a pathway add for the athletes. I assume there is a reason BA doesn’t chase that up.

I always thought the assistant stepped up but I've never seen an advert before. Do they normally advertise and then just give it to the assistant or is this a change?

@Baller23, several pro AC's have recently undertaken campaigns. On the men’s side Illawarra’s Joel Khalu was with the Emus in Jordan for Asia Cup and Sam Gruggen (Hawks) and Greg Vanderjagt (Bullits) were with the Crocs in 2022 for Asia Cup and World Cup.
