Cairns @ Sydney

Tough losses for both sides last game. Would love to see Cairns get another W but with Armstrong and Groves still both out it will take a huge effort, particularly with Kings out for redemption at home.

What's the status of Adams and Cooks?

Agree without Armstrong and Groves Kings should win at home regardless, but I could see Cairns making this a very tight game if those two are not playing and/or underdone.

I just can't see kings dropping this game, surely it’s time to start Oliver. Play Bruce as well, he adds the toughness that kings lack, to many pretty boys at present Goorj, get ruthless.

But if Cooks back to his best (like the first 4 games of this season) and without Armstrong, Kings by 10+

If Cooks is struggling like Friday then Cairns could make this tight

Edward's continuing from where he left off on Thursday night. Cairns still go OK for a side with so many B grade players.
Sydney have so much depth, Goorjians biggest problem will be keeping them all happy with only 1 ball.

King's excellent D so far. Cairns not playing poorly, but Syd defence and Bruce 5/5 from deep is killing us...

Bruce showing that he's still very useful. Cairns just don’t have enough quality, it’s probably the way it is in most sports where you have the have and have nots.

I still love Shaun Bruce always been sore he left the Sixers to sign with the Kings but it was a very smart decision for him. He's had a great second half of his career, I remember at one point he lost his contract with the Taipans and he stayed on with them just as a training player because it was said his Mrs didn't want to leave QLD.

Edward's back to earth with a big thud. A few games into the season, the scouts come in and everyone sees how to play him. Another G league player who doesn’t play defense and struggles under defensive pressure in a big boys competition.

You should look to euro for imports, PJC for example, some quality guys there. Kings back end bench guys better than half cairns starters. Rucker, Noi chucking up shots like it's his own personal shoot around, lol, he eventually made one.

I won't be writing Edwards (or Cairns) off after one quiet game. He was defended heavily and Armstrong wasn't there to take some pressure off. Definitely don't have the depth of other teams but keeping the first 7-8 healthy we'll still be very competitive.

You look all over the world for the best player you can get. There's good players everywhere. One positive in guys who have succeeded in the top Euro national leagues is they're playing at a similar standard to the NBL, the bonus of guys who have played well in the US is they've played at a similar speed to the NBL.

Ideally, you get experienced guys who have been around and played well, but that said some of the best imports the NBL has seen are young guys straight out of the US.

Hurt has come out Duke, Gazey raves about it, they certainly didn't need him playing D there. Good imports normally need at least a season away from the g league. Tucker a good example, after being under Vickerman for season, and he was a very player but didn’t understand team, he’s gone onto a very successful career even though he was average the first third of season.

Not sure if it made the broadcast but when Edwards was subbed out towards the end of the 4th Q it looked like one of the refs put his hand on his shoulder to console him or something and he nudged the the ref out of his way and said "get the fuck off me" which was not great. Very emotional player obviously and would not have been happy with his performance. I saw Forde and him having a stroll and chat outside the stadium a few hours after the game which is probably a good indication of the kind of coach Forde is, too.
