Bit defence by either side would be useful. 32-27 to hawks @1/4 time.

Hawks were asleep to start this one

Tatum opted for experience and toughness of Peatling over Olbrich to settle the ship, then played small ball with Hickey/Harvey/Kell on together to reduce turnovers and apply pressure of their own

A good coaching response to the turmoil of the first 4 minutes

Loving Case on the main call. No jibberish bs, just calling the game as he sees it.

Yep was about to say as well, Case significantly better than Joel Peterson and Lachie Reid.

Entertaining game, and yes hawks fans turning up also a great positive. Casey also best on commentary. I like what Sixers coach is doing, imo probably don't make top six but you can see positives. Davis offensively is a gun, defensively needs a lot work.

Adelaide in the mix for an upset here. They've done well to be only down two at the half. I feel like both sides still have plenty on the table for the second half.

Why do they continue doing with the narrative that the Sixers didn't want Kell? I remember Ninnis saying they were going hard to get Kell back?

There were plenty of rumours around the 36ers offered Kell a multi year deal, but maybe that changed when the GM came in?

Great win, sounds like Humphries might be getting comfortable with Davis and Harrell based on his pre-game talk. Fantastic block by him at the end too, they need him firing to be a good team.

That was most enjoyable - players are starting to get used to each other and it showed tonight. Great shooting by Davis and the inside players.

First of all I just want to say hello to Olgun Uluc. That game definitely showed that the way Kendric Davis plays is conducive to playing in this league. His first qtr was outstanding and he set the tone for this win.

This was a really entertaining game from start to finish, one of the best NBL games I've seen in a while. It could have gone either way but hardly anyone gave the Sixers a chance of winning this one so doing so on the Hawks court is a real statement. And there's cause for more optimism with Martin not far away.

Humphries was outstanding in limited minutes too due to foul trouble. Made some very nice plays down the stretch including a big block on Trey Kell and grabbing some really timely offensive rebounds. Bring on the Kings.

The 36ers "big 4" certainly delivering

Harrell and DJ would both be in the discussion for All-NBL 1st team at this very early stage

Humphries has played 2 strong games this weekend and was huge in the 4th quarter

Davis was the best player on court tonight and also good vs SEM

Is Harrel staying? Martin imo is not as good as Harrel. It would be nice if Sixers could keep both.

That was very disappointing and annoying. Hawks have enough shooters now, but they really need to start playing some defence if they're going to challenge. That was a pathetic defensive effort. We will miss Gary Clarke after all. Days is a slightly better shooter, but Clarke was a far better defender.

Harvey missing that wide open 3 to win was very frustrating too. Really good atmosphere though. Such a shame they let everyone down like that. Wollongong crowds are fickle. They won’t get that many people next time.

Fantastic game to watch, obviously not much defence played and plenty of turnovers but it felt like a fun game to watch start to finish. Part of that Hawks get enormous credit for the fantastic atmosphere - that's the best I’ve heard it there.

The way the Hawks play is as fun as Hok ball, but to add a good crowd in is even better. Credit to the Hawks, it’s great to see.

36ers have had big games out of all of their big 4 now over 4 games. That’s important and a good sign. Kell v Davis battle for the points was fun. Both of those players were brilliant at ticking the scoreboard over. That Davis three at the end was clutch!

Looking ahead at the fixture that double win weekend was huge. 36ers play Sydney at home and United away next weekend which could very well be 0-2 before Tassie and Cairns where perhaps they can even things out again.

We could see Adelaide potentially be 4-4 in 3 weeks time.

I'm really looking forward to seeing United play both these teams

So far, over 4 games, no one has got off the leash for any extended period. United has locked up their opponents most of the time. But, it's been an easier fixture- JJs without Sword/MacDonald, The dysfunctional SEM, Perth without Webster and Windler. Hokball and the 36ers big 4 should provide a different level of challenge

Bit of a random question...……… how is Harrell allowed to wear face piercings during a game? He didn't even bother to put bandaids on them yesterday?

A very good win a bit surprising but we played very well. Kendric Davis is certainly making me eat my words he looked like a superstar last night. I don't think we can expect those kind of nights from him on a regular basis but at playing both ends it was one of the best games I've seen from a Sixers import PG.

Loving the work from Harrell and Humphries too and some good defence from Dech at times too, he's still a valuable role player.

Trey Kell now looks like a million dollars which is always the way for ex-Sixers just wish we saw more of that from him last season. Days is a big downgrade on Clark but to the Hawks credit they're so strong top to bottom it can be hidden easier, they're still right up there as legit contenders.

I think he had black tape last night, which blended in a lot better than the tan coloured stuff he was wearing Thursday night.

I must be getting too old for modern basketball and pining for the good ol'days.

The days of minimal dribbling, maximum passing, playing strong help D, NOT driving to the basket against three defenders ( that's you DJ), the lovely pick and roll.

Just hate the style we play.

Off to the retirement village I go, to watch old replays of Pop coaching the Spurs.

Modern basketball isn't great, all the bad shots. The trend seems to be just to get a shot up asap before the defence sets. It's the BS style they play in the NBA which makes that league unwatachable. With all the extra posessions it wildly inflates scoring hence everyone in the NBA averaging 20 ppg. Garbage basketball.

The NBL is going more and more like the NBA but right now is a bit of a hybrid between NBA and FIBA styles. It's getting harder to watch. Defence will be a thing of the past soon.

36ers dont seem to have an actual offence beyond some simple rules

Highball screen into iso, hand off or pop.

Many times in the last two games there have been 4 guys standing still watching DJV or KD create shots for themselves

36ers win by 2, having 100 scored against them again. How different would the press conferences be if Harvey had hit one of those last few 3's? Adelaide walk away feeling great. Yep, they can still score, but still don't play defense ( no need to talk about that now because they won!
Hawks feel like they let their fans down, but if one of those late shots dropped, they'd be thinking the are soooo much better than Adelaide.
Obviously teams that lose try to learn from their mistakes ( like missing 1 too many shots) and teams that win, don't need to learn anything.

You could also highlight 36ers needed SEM to have Walton, Sobey and Wieskamp to go combined 1/16 from 3 to win too. If they shot at 30% together SEM wins.
