Remaining Roster Spots

Sorry guys just thought I'd make this thread
As it sits United Kings have 1 local each left to fill according to news corp United seem to be elvating a DP or maybe Malith Machar who has been a dp. Kings it looks Galloway perhaps returns.

Perth Illawarra have an import spot up their sleeve seem no rumours yet at the moment.

I don't think teams are biting are corey webster due to he's off court things

Also interesting to talk about Next Stars- 36ers, Taipans, Hawks and United the teams without one at this stage. Would definitely expect United and Illawarra to sign one, probably the Taipans, maybe not the Sixers? Not sure though, just speculative

Pretty sure United already released Machar.

I think there are only four roster spots left:

Perth - 3rd import

Sydney - Local player likely Jaylin Galloway

Illawarra - 3rd import

Melbourne - 3rd import or local player

Adelaide, Cairns, Brisbane, SE Melbourne, Tasmania and New Zealand have completed their rosters. Technically Next Stars and/or an NRP player can be added.

Was hoping for a NS for Cairns, but surely if not by now it isn't happening.

Rocco Toohey Lewis Almasa Lopez Siulepa next star
i meant main main roster, sorry for the confusion still a bunch of DP spots but don't need to fill all 4

If you read newscorp and what Pete Hooley was writing United are either elvating one of the current DPS or signing Malith they have two marquees White and Goulding / Delly https://nbl.com.au/news/hools-is-hearing-phoenix-circling-veteran

Adelaide don't have an import spot or a roster spot to sign that import

I don't see a next star coming unless it's a 17 year two year project player but United would've announced one if they had one up their sleeve they were after izan almansa but missed out

They only have 2 imports. If they want a 3rd they will deactivate a player.

If DJV and Humphries are both going to be marquees the sheer cost to the club of signing a third import makes it unlikely.

Either DJV or Humphries's full contract would have to go onto the cap, which would determine how much if any luxury tax they would have to pay at the end of season also ensuring they miss out on the distributed funds of tax payers to the teams that didn't pay along with the new import's salary on top and those potential tax ramifications. Plus a player that signed to a roster spot would get demoted off of the roster along with potential further ramifications there.

The Bullets did all this late last season when they decided to sign a third import, Prather, and had to then move Sobey's full contract onto the cap as he was a marquee before that, you can only have a combination of four imports and marquees.

All up just don't get your hopes up about the Sixers signing a third import this season.

It's the same at United, it keeps the competition reasonably fair, maybe even another marquee to try and keep more players in nbl.

Ah so Zodiac does understand the marquee rules....except when downplaying a Melbourne team.

2018 really wasn't that much of a wound, it’s not like the 2010 AFL grand final smother for Saints fans, for instance.

Unnecessary, KET- You know how to hit a man where it hurts!

I'd give my left pinky for a Saints flag. Would happily empty the Tigers/ United cabinet and trade it for one!

Not even a skerrick/hint/whiff/crumb of info on the 3rd Wildcat import and were 5 days from their first preseason game against NBL1 stars..... anyone got a particle of a rumour they can share I can't handle it anymore?

So the Cats posted on fb saying the "full squads back" with a pic of Devondrick Walker training with them. Possibly a deliberate red herring, possibly a clue, possibly nothing. I know a bunch of local NBL1 dudes and drop ins train with them occasionally who knows. Itching to find out.

Great pick up. Definitely upgrade on Usher.

Had a game of 23 pts/33rebs last year in the G-league despite being only 6'6. So will help on the boards.
