Watched it on Kayo Forestville came from behind to get the win. Greg Mays the standout won GF MVP, 31 & 10. DJ I think had about 20 & 13 too. Jeremy Smith and Starling best for South although Starling scored most of his points in the first quarter. John Casey & Brett Maher on commentary too.

Forestville off to the Sunshine Coast for the nationals.

This thread doesn't seem to limit it to any one conference..

6,460 for the NBL1 West grand final (men's and women's double header)

Meanwhile in NSW, no suitable be venues, so hold it at dodgy Penrith, who I think only entered the league this year or last year? AND because it is too small for real crowds, charge for standalone games... $22 for either men or women, empty the stands between. NSW Basketball have failed so spectacularly to secure funds for new stadia since the 90s that there just are not venues that could accommodate a decent crowd. Having said that, the Sydney based teams would see a crowd of 200 as a success on a regular game night. A long way to go.

Just out of curiosity, what does the venue at Homebush (not Qudos), the one the Razorbacks and Sydney Spirit played out of for a while, hold?

Right near Qudos

Is that still fit for purpose for bball, I'm sure it’s held Opals games of recent years?

Why couldn’t the nbl1 east GF be there? Largely central for everyone, close to freeways for Newcastle and Canberra
Lots of parking etc

Central crowd nearly 3,500 which is great considering the fact of 2 Forestville teams.
Great Atmosphere, good entertainment and a couple of cracking games.
Fantastic way to finish the season.

Judging by what I saw last night
West: 6000+ (I think I read 6400)
Central: 3000-3500 (would be a mistake if they move it to the new stadium next year)
South: full house at Dandenong - maybe 2000 each game?
East: didn't see but sounds like the least of all the conferences.

Didn’t catch the North games last week, how were they?

NBL1 certainly looking up - those numbers sound be more than other years.

Was at the NBL1 West game it was packed and very loud, bunch of wildcats there in the corporate boxes too. Everytime the cheerleaders went on court I could only picture raygun and kangaroo pose for some reason.

Clark, Quaycentre holds 4500. Quality venue imo.

Quaycentre is still operating. Flames played a few games there this year. I think Kings have an upcoming pre-season game there too.

Just for info
Adelaide has always got crowds of around 3.5-4k for their previous Premier League/CABL Grand Finals - NBL1 no larger.
For the other finals the bigger clubs, eg Sturt, Forestville, Norwood, North have always got crowds of around 1,000 with no-one getting lass than 600.

Central ABA, ABL, NBL 1 - usually gets around 2,500 - more this year - whilst they didn't have all seats extended it looked full in the bottom bowl.

Actually now I think about it Dandenong only had one stand down, so maybe 1200 total for each game?

Central seems to be steadily growing last years crowd was good but think this year might have been more. Especially impressive with only 3 clubs involved.
