Change for Wnbl

Does anyone know why there has been a change to 3 umpires for the Wnbl.

I noticed this on Abc last weekend.

Think you are seeing things.

Has been no change in Adelaide, which would mean no change anywhere else.

Only thing I can think of is possibly there was a trainee ref trying to get some National league experience.....but I highly doubt that would be the case.

Did you see 3 on at the same time, or just noticed 3 different refs? If the latter, perhaps one becamme injured and had to be replaced.

There were three refs on both WNBL games in Melbourne.
Dandenong vs AIS (ABC Televised)
Bulleen vs AIS

This was for the purpose of those referees having their practical assessment for their FIBA international referees badge (which operate with 3 officials for men and women).

The camp was a weekend long camp, involving fitness, practical (on-court) and theoretical testing.

Good luck to those involved, they should hear soon who passed to get FIBA Badge.

Among those was SA's own Andrew Filmer.
