NBA Western Conference Finals

Mavs vs Wolves.

60-37 second half on the road by Minnesota is a very impressive way to go through.

Any predictions as to how this series might play out?

Honestly could go either way. Probably comes down a lot to Lukas health.

Should be a defensive slog out there as this would be the best two defences in the post season.

Hoping Maxi Kleber returns sometime soon as he would be real handy for Dallas in this series.

Heart says Dallas in 7, head says Timberwolves in 7.

Can't wait to watch the Timberwolves defense trying to shut down Luka and Kyrie. This will be great.

I'm leaning towards the T-Wolves but could go either way, certainly expect this series to have better chances of being competitive than the East.

I think this is good for Boston. Whichever of these two teams make it, Boston will be the only team with Finals experience now.
That might seem like nothing but the stuff between the ears is super important.

Agreed. I reckon Denver was the only team who would've been a strong chance of beating a healthy Boston.

Nothing's impossible but you'd be feeling pretty comfortable as a Celtics fan right now.

Celtics will win it, unless they start handicapping themselves early in series like how they bizarrely did so last season.

Quite surprised that this hasn't been two 5-10 point wins to the Wolves. I was expecting that late-season run by the Mavs to be a flash in the pan.

Lively has been very good as a rookie in his first post-season. 18/20 FG over the last four games, and averaging a double double off the bench. Hitting FTs too to deny the hacking option.

Has anyone caught on the commentary what's causing Doncic to bleed through the sleeve/strapping on his leg a couple of times these play-offs? Court burn or something else?

Timberwolves have just not been shooting it well apart from Naz Reid, Jayden McDaniels in the first and Conley in the second.
so credit the Dallas defence for that.

Dallas are exposing Rudy Gobert in key moments, and Kyrie is just playing like the alien that he is.

i am no trainer but judging by the nature of the loosish gauss wrapping on Luka Doncic's knee/s, my guess is that it is floor burn. But yeah there has been no commentary about it, certainly the right knee and ankle soreness have been reported, but i thought the bleeding was from the left side of the left knee, which is the way he favours and falls when he shoots.

3-0 now. Big gulf near the end when you have KAT putting up more threes after not hitting any all night, while Kyrie is making tougher buckets for the Mavs. Wolves might get one at least if they capitalise on Lively being kneed in the crotch and then kneed in the head and possibly missing a game due to concussion.

@Isaac Doncic has been bleeding out of his knees since late in the regular season, not 100% why. Perhaps a wound from treatment that keeps getting knocked or something.

Going to be interesting to see what Timberwolves team rocks up on Wednesday. Dallas might win by 20+ if they roll over... Alternatively, I can see a future of a couple timberwolves wins in a row coming up and Dallas taking this in 6.

Exum with some minutes and a couple of buckets in the second quarter of game four. After hitting a three that forced a Wolves timeout, he got lots of very enthusiastic support from teammates when going to the bench which is nice to see.

Josh Green fantastic in stretches today, and Exum got some time also. Wolves blown out at home and lucky the scoreline made it look more competitive than it was.

Doncic just savage. 20 points in the first 8 minutes, then just toyed with Minnesota after that.

Hopefully makes for an interesting Finals series.

Doncic is unbelievable to watch. Creates so much space off the dribble but looks as slow as a wet week while he does it. Game was over in the first quarter. Can't believe how well him and Kyrie work together, never thought I’d be saying that. Fingers crossed they can get it done against Boston.

Yeah they've worked incredible together. For two ball dominant alpha types, its never felt forced one for you, one for me how it can with others. They really just keep going to whoever is working at the time.

2 genuine game winners as well. Kidd must love the fact in a close game he pretty much has the 2 best players in the comp when its comes to needing a go ahead basket, and they actually look like they are happy if the other one takes the shot.

Luka playing with confidence is almost unstoppable. However, he's never met a ref call he can’t complain about. When the refs start pinging him for the constant whinging, then we’ll likely see a head-case Luka who can be beaten.

(The constant whinging is why he’ll never be MVP imho - it’s likely to piss off too many people who matter in the voting.)

His constant arguing calls does make him hard to like.

Luka can hand over the ball, and then take the possession off to conserve energy, but his defender won't sag too far from him. Seems to work well for them. Opponents might've left it too late to needle Kyrie about being the little brother, or Luka Jr or something.

It's remarkable how much Luka can do in a contained space too. He'll inch forward holding one defender behind him to get around the foul line and try to lure the defender under the basket to leave their player. Then seems to get the easy shot at will.
