Potential small-town NBL grand final series

Surprised no one has flagged a JJs V Hawks GF.

We all know that it's possible, even if highly unlikely. Either would be admirable, both would be amazing.

It would be reminiscent of 2001

Would screw up viewing figures big-time, not having the two big city teams. (I'd expect LK to prefer dollars to drama.)

Be such a great Cinderella story for the Hawks if it happens, and again reminding people that Tatum probably deserved COTY more than Vickerman.

Fingers crossed that it happens.

The playoffs are where the action really happens

And it shows who the true champions of the season are. The minor premiers don't necessarily become champions.

And much like Jock Landale proved he was the real MVP of the 2021 season in the 2021 playoffs (although arguably that's unfair because Cotton wasn't able to make his own case due to injury), the likes of Magnay, Tatum, and others have an opportunity to show us they were snubbed

Townsville v Wollongong 2001 was epic.

Lowery's free throws which somehow went in vs. Sixers in the semi final.

Hawks beating the Crocs, without holding home court advantage, to finally win a championship.

Refs will make sure that doesn't happen
