Sixers v kings

Last on table with a little bit form versus back to back champions playing crap. Kings are just a better line up but Humphries might show them up. Really haven't got clue, just hope the refs call hand checks, grabbing and dumb fouls but let them play a bit physical under the bucket, keep the charge, block to a minimum only when they are sure.

Kings by eight

Should really be nothing other than a Kings W by 5-10.

Wonder what happens with Sydney if they lose though.

Both teams a bit sloppy, but pretty even to start.
Can see DJ pressing a bit for a big game against the old mob. Noi been good for Kings.

Noi is minus 6, kings worst, commentary saying he's good doesn’t mean he has been, there’s two ends court. The much acclaimed kings bench not doing well. Why Sixers Galloway hasn’t had more time all season is mind boggling

It's funny how we go to the video to adjust the clock (normally in the background) at most opportunities, but we still default to an unchallengable jump ball when the refs can't work out who last touched it on out of bounds calls.

Agree with two ends of the floor, but Noi at least has hit a few shots, unlike Valentine etc.
Individual plus/minus isn't the best barometer

Hunter is the only player that rebounds for Sydney, no coach can win with that. Noi is minus 18, had 7 shots and not another stat. Bolden, Glover minus 15, stats tells a story, commentary tells a story but it's a fairy tail.
All Sixers doing well led by Galloway and Humphries, maybe Ninnis has got some ideas, they certainly have improved.

King's offense is pathetic, either the ball sticks in Adam’s hands & he jacks up bricks. If the ball does move it goes 1 or 2 passes & another jacked up 3.
No inside presence at all or cutting in the key to move the defense.
As for Sydney’s bench what a difference a year makes, I believe they are all good players but Maumood has sucked their confidence out off them.
Defense is poor & until they just play man with no switching & put pressure on the ball handler nothing will change
King’s will be lucky to win 2 more games in the season

Hey everyone. Just tuned in to the game. ESPN scoreboard is wonky right? Says Adelaide 59 Sydney 40. When will they correct this as surely it's not right? Pick up your game ESPN you’re as bad as the commentary!

Many of the kings players are well out of form and credit to Adelaide for getting their energy back and starting to turn their year around. 36ers owner, hhhmm my asset company needs some favours, lets get the premier into seats court side beside me for the game. Other countries would call this corruption.

Kell looking so much better lately and by god I hope 36ers weren't stupid enough to hurt their relationship with Humphries. We NEED him back next season.

Those 36ers jerseys continue to look schmick. Crowds continue to be awesome!

Camera constantly going back to Flowers was annoying. Incessant chatter on commentary was very annoying.

Maybe Casey could have actually been commentating his 1000th game?

The boldy ref can't make calls ,what’s he doing there ,seems like they don’t have anyone else available, from where I was sitting ,I would have asked for reviews and would have won most of them. Even senior ref from Sydney trying hard to cover up mistakes made by other two .Send the baldy one back to WNBL He can’t keep up with todays fast paced game.

What is the story with JA for Sydney, is he carrying a shoulder problem. His shot looks terrible and all he seems to want to do is run into the key for some little floater?

Only positive for Sydney was Maluach, who should just eat up all Valentine's minutes from this point.

Does Ninnis stick around for Adelaide? Adelaide are certainly playing much better basketball since he took over the reigns.

Was it a case of the 36ers played really well or they were the better of the two teams on the night? Are the 36ers playing better as a team? Both teams shot very poorly from the 3 point line.

That said, they do seem to be a happier team and are playing with more energy

I think the 36ers are playing better with Kell at the 1 and McCarron benched and they're definitely doing a better job getting Humphries involved too. I'm not convinced they're above a mid-range team at best still, but certainly playing better than what CJ was getting out of them. Again, shooting 19% from 3, 42% from the field, that's not a sustainable way to build a winning team, they just had the unusual turnaround of Sydney somehow shooting even worse. That sort of shooting effort is has not been abnormal for the 36ers this year, part of that will be personnel based sure, but you've also got guys like DJV who are supposed to be shooters going 1-8 or guys like Galloway or Dech shooting a ton and not hitting their shots. If your main weapon is the 3 and you're hitting 15-20% of the ones you take that's a problem.

Kings are on a slide, they're 3-7 in their last 10 and 2 of those wins were against Cairns who are now 2nd bottom, so don't rate beating them as highly as MU.

"Was it a case of the 36ers played really well or they were the better of the two teams on the night?"

Sydney were unbelievably cold in the first half. They scored 27 points and probably 2/3 of their attempts were open shots. Adams was 0-9 at one point with his only 2 points coming from a cheap foul at the top of the key when they were in the bonus.
We still played really well, but Sydney made us look good for most of the night

Here's a fun stat for you: McCarron has only 6 assists in his last 9 games. His minutes have been cut, but he's still averaging about 15mpg in that time. This is a guy who averaged 5apg in his first year here and is supposed to be our Captain. He's completely checked out and we would be better served just giving Cadee/Marshall/Dech/Flowers his minutes for the rest of the year and benching him entirely

His stroke might be why his % and willingness to shoot from deep is so low.
His technique is incomplete IMO.
There's almost no wrist. It's all arm and fingers.(fingers curl without wrist movement)
Accuracy off the fingers is generated by continuity of movement through the sequence of: shoulder-elbow-wrist-fingers.

LaPark - you keep taking the stats out of context - there's a difference not making open looks and attempting contested shots. DJV had a rather ordinary night whether the pressure got to him or more obvious that he was doubled most of the night, which he used to pick the Kings apart and that's how he got 8 assists. In fairness last 2 shots came at the end when he really wanted to hit that dagger, well it didn't go in. Dech for a change played most of the time to his strengths - driving to the basket, Galloway should do the same - take a 3 as a last resort not the primary option. They both played really well defensively and those shots came with DJV and Kell on the bench, so it's more about having additional threat(s) available in addition to these two.

The Kings on the other hand missed lots of open shots and made no effort to rebound (Jordi exception and late in the game Noi). Not sure whether it was lack of confidence, I tend to think that they were missing on purpose and their body language was all wrong.

It will be interesting if the 36ers do win in Cairns :) I actually enjoy this season simple because of unpredictability, apart from top 2 (maybe 3), it seems all other teams can get into play off/in (top 4-6), well maybe the 36ers could make that #6 if they keep fighting with a bit of luck.

As for the Kings, I have no sympathy, even the owner is not loud anymore but I don't think they will fire the coach, they are just too cheap.
