Where is the funding coming from ?

So 18 month ago Hawthorn Magic was on the ropes , owing BV $200K, now they are advertising for a new GM, looking at paying $130K odd.

With 20 EDJBA teams , 30 rep teams , some programs and Senior domestic number dwindling and a staff of 7 already - it begs to ask - Where is the funding coming from to pay a GM this sort of money ????

Apparently local council believes they are a shambles so I doubt they are funding Hawthorn to that extent. Maybe they have acquired some grants? More likely a cashed up parent (group) wanting to make sure their princess or prince gets to play representative basketball is donating.

This again.
Shame they still exist as it impacts the support of all local programs. But money talks.
Great coaching opportunities there for those who can't get an upper end gig somewhere established. Lots of young and inexperienced coaches getting a go. An opportunity missed for the bigger picture of grassroots.
Waste of energy talking about it now.

@Ethics101

support in form of grants like other all non-profit organisations.

Possibly via 'corporate sponsorship' (if any of the parents owns a business), to be a win-win situation for both parties.
