JJ's @ Cairns, Nov 18

Both sides looking to get back to winning form.

I think JJs will bounce back after their last loss and take this by a few. Cairns just to inexperienced to be a threat this season, the loss of Hogg is massive.

McCall missed two free throws and jogs back while his man shoots an open three, not good enough

Too easy for JJs at present. Taipans 2-6 from stripe, it cost teams games

This is a very good game and so far the refs have been very reasonable.

Interesting commentary pairing with the NBL's best (Casey) and worst (Lowery) on the game.

Excellent defence by Taran to not allow a good final shot by Crawford.

OT.

That defence should be in the plays of the week, excellent. OT, Cairns had this but JJs never beat.

Magnay under and around the bucket is exactly what the boomers need

McVeigh with the cold blooded game winner. Nice.

Oh my, magnificent game and like all games there is calls you don't agree with but overall these refs were great, game flowed nicely. Taipans should never let that slip. Crawford, Magnay, McVeigh great. Armstrong was impressive as was Miller. McCall plays well but just to much acting for fouls and flops, just play ball.

Great call re Magnay, Dunkman. Just got to hope he can get on the floor consistently over the rest of the season so he can get back to his best.

That game was a slugfest but an entertaining one, the clutch play of McVeigh and Crawford the difference, to state the obvious.

Not vehemently disagreeing, but don't see how Magnay has a sniff of a Boomers spot any time soon with Landale, Reath and White around? Would be interested to hear the thinking.

Magnay offers defence that none of those players offer, he's also a very good offensive player when you run plays for him. White is not a five man and Reath is doing ok in nba but defensively and rebounding I’m taking Magnay every time.

White may not be a 5 but he can certainly defend.

An advantage Magnay might have over Humphries as another contender is that he seems more focussed and less driven by emotion.

I was at the game & Magnay was the game changer. He had some massive blocks but also changed shots with his length & timing. I agree he would fit into the boomers nicely if healthy & will be on NBA scouts radar again as well.

He was huge!!

Yeah he was massive. Will be interesting to see if the JJ's defensive issues lessen from here on with Magnay in the line-up?
