White, Reath waived from their NBA clubs

OKC have waived Jack White, Portland have waived Duop Reath.

I wonder if there's possibility these guys return to the NBL? Moreso White perhaps as Reath I could see chasing a Japanese deal.

Are there any NBL sides that could both open a spot up and afford either one of these?

what a shame, I thought Duop was playing well for them. Wish Mattisse and Josh could've asked front office to let them stay.

Reath is too small for his position in nba, White the same. Now these guys don't come cheap but there might be a few nbl clubs looking. White instead of Usher at cats for a start.

White brings a lot of team hustle, defence and doing the little things. I think he would move the needle on most teams in the NBL.

Reath is solid but would need to be in a good team setup / coaching (e.g. not Perth) to effective.

If 36ers could afford him - that'd be a better direction than backup C import.

Wiley could play C when White is on.

Doesn’t matter who starts given Humphries and Wiley both aren’t capable of substantial time on Court, so there’s definitely 30mins for White to fill.

There is absolute 0% chance 36ers sign these guys we do not have the money at this point in the season for someone just coming off the nba that's also a boomer.

Sucks for both guys. Thought both would have had an opportunity to stick.

White to get another NBA deal and Duop to go to Europe/China for way more money, both wont be in the nbl this season unfortunately.

Still good money in Europe, not as good as it was but a few wars over there could keep the nbl looking like a great place to play.

Absolute pipe dream, but would be perfect if the Bullets cut bait on Baynes and brought in White.

Would be shocked if either end up in the NBL this season

Most teams havent played 7 games yet. Imports could be replaced by a marquee Aussie- Gary Clark, Doolittle etc

Depending on whether their contract has full pay-out in it or not.

From memory it was discussed on here recently that the norm is, many returning imports with new clubs (eg: DJ Hogg) or imports on subsequent contracts with their existing clubs (Gary Browne, Bryce Cotton) would have that clause waived. But new NBL imports typically have the 7 game clause. eg Gary Clark, Doolittle.

It would depend on what their manager negotiated.

The Wizards have waived Taj Gibson and Xavier Cooks.

The Portland Trail Blazers are signing center Duop Reath to a two-way contract, sources tell ESPN.

Great news for Reath.

Hopefully White and Cooks can land a two-way somewhere too.

Jack White's release throws up a few questions. I would've thought Giddey would have the pull to get White kept on if he really wanted it. Only $600k of his contract was guaranteed.

There were rumours early in the off-season that Jack White had verbally agreed to a 3 year deal with the 36ers with NBA opt-out clauses at the start of each season depending on whether Denver re-signed him or another NBA team offered him a deal, which OKC then did.

If no other NBA interest in him perhaps he'll come back here and formally sign with 36ers to showcase himself?

Maybe Sydney will offer him a big deal, Adelaide won't be able to match it and will release his rights?
