MU @ Hawks, Oct 20

Hawks need a win. Can the roll one of the title contenders at home?

Who gets Delly's minutes?

Sorry Hawks. No chance.

I'd like to see Flynn Cameron get Delly’s minutes while he’s out. Cameron seems a good decision maker, can shoot and solid on defence.

Let’s hope Delly is only out for the standard concussion protocol period.

Cameron will get more minutes for sure. He's up to it. With United's backcourt depth, 1 injury isn't that serious. An injury to Travers would be far more damaging to the team's prospects. Or JLA or Hukporti (once Loe goes home).

JLA's return is interesting. Sometimes it takes a game or two while the team finds a new rhythm.

Which hawks turns up, they did have one good performance, if that hawks fronts it'll be a good game, if not it could be a long night at the gong. Cameron is young but he certainly likes shooting it, I’d think that Krebs will get more time and Goulding more shots. Great to see JLA back.

The JLA return is very interesting. I wonder how he fits in. Loe has been excellent and arguably (hard to imagine) a better fit for the team as the center off the bench.

With Delly out expect Loe to stay on. They starting to have some serious height with JLO back and will just run Frolin and co into the ground.

Looking forward to another Jackomas coaching masterclass - making a sub every 90 seconds and playing Blanchfield over Lee.

Yeah Loe has been the perfect fit.

Needs two more games to qualify for playoffs, where they could call him up from NZ if Hukporti or JLA get hurt. If he's playing NZNBL again he'll be in pre-season and fit.

LV think he has done so well that MU will definitely make sure he qualifies for playoffs this weekend. His skill set with Vickerman means he could fill in as a small forward and the way injuries are going he won't be going back to NZ too soon

Hawks should been a lot closer, indiscriminate subbing hurts teams, hawks not only team doing it. Goulding daggers at just before halftime hurt them, Hukporti and JLA going to be very hard to stop. Hawks still defensively still poor, United in second gear.

Enjoyable game

Is Olgun the most uninteresting droll individual on the NBL payroll? So boring.

Reply #928788 | Report this post

The NBL is too focused on hype.
Now we really have to think seriously about league level.
The NBL is poor in both offense and defense.
You have to think long term.
Ultimately, viewers around the world prioritize league level.

Hukporti is giving Froling nightmares, too big too strong, too athletic. Froling again has talent but clearly over hyped.

Harvey is so average now, United so smooth. Coaches make and break teams.

Reply #928791 | Report this post

The Hawks' biggest problem is defense.
Another problem is that there is no synergy between Robinson and Harvey.

Sam Froling is still young and has room to improve, but if he continues to participate in the offense like this, he won't be the player that makes the team win. Also, defense is overrated.

If Sam had half the motor his old man had, he'd be averaging 20 and 10. A future Boomer he is not.

United just so good at both ends, I'm not into sacking coaches but hawks got fix there subbing, good players seem to go to the bench for big namers doing nothing. Johnson looks a talent when on but never sees enough court time.

Regarding Sam, I don't see any special strengths in offense, defense, outside, or inside. He couldn't fix any of the problems he had until last season.

Solid win for United, great team passing all game. Was impressed with Travers, playing a quality, efficient and competitive style.

The Hukporti/JLA combo worked, who should be the #1 center is an interesting debate.

Agreed them at the Hawks seem a bit lost with the rotations, hard to get continuity.

If the Hawks had a Forde or Roth as coach we would of won tonight's game and also the Adelaide game. In the Adelaide we were leading by four points just after 3QTR time then Adelaide go on a run to lead by nine when Jackomas eventually calls a time out. In that game he had Blanchfield marking Kell who was on fire in the first half. In tonight's game we are down twelve with about Four minutes to go and sharpshooting Lee is on the bench until just inside two minutes to go and then when he does come on he hits a three immediately. Why the f**k is he playing Grida when we are chasing points and giving Blanchfield as much time as Lee. And lastly WTF has Hickey done wrong for him to get no game time which goes to the useless one in Bayles. I thought Hickey improved a lot last year but the coach won't give him minutes. BRING BACK BEVO
