Bayles signs with Hawks

The Illawarra Hawkes have announced signing Bayles to a Development contract.

This had to happen eventually with him going to where all the Sydney Comets players end up with the Comets coaches at Illawarra.

He took leave of absence from the Kings because he probably got kicked out because of his attitude and no one would want to play with him.

Only Jackomas or Mallet would be able to try to control him.Good luck.

A guy that reminds me of Tamuri Wigness...highly touted, all the talent in the world but undersized and not a great 3pt shooter. Will be interesting to see if he can develop his game and become a consistent outside threat, if not he will dissapear like Wigness has.

Hawks roster not looking great, some guys just keep getting opportunities. Hopefully he can make it work.

Speaking of Wigness where is he now? Surely a team would take a punt on him as a development player.

Bayles is a good signing as a development player.

Good for him but this Hawks team is ordinary. Froling, Peatling & import will be there bigs but not athletic enough in the 4 spot with Blanchfield rumoured probably playing some minutes there. Rebounding is going to be a big problem, Grida will have a great season & it's only time before Froling & Grida go somewhere else

101 annon you are forgetting about Olbrich who is about 6'11. He is athletic and could play the 4. Can knock down 3's also

Sixersfan I reserve judgment on Olbrich. 90% in the NBL can shoot the 3, he needs to play both ends of the floor. Big difference playing against grown men with strength and speed

Wigness was WAY more productive as a junior than Bayles, and did a lot more winning. Bayles very lucky to keep getting opportunities, as far as I can see.

"Big difference playing against grown men with strength and speed"

Sure but he did score 19 and had 10 rebounds against Illawarra for his college team when they played start of the most recent pre-season. I am not surprised they went after him
