What happened when a few years ago teams could beat any team on a given night because they were all good. Now most teams can beat others because they are shit.
Oh man, the 2018-19 season was amazing and the peak of LK's ownership so far.
Regarding competitiveness seven of the then eight teams made the playoffs or had just missed out on qualifying for them during the final round. It also felt like every team, excluding Cairns, were spending money on quality imports - there was no cheapening out.
The NBL can't solely blame COVID for subsequently plummeting so far downwards as there was still another season in between which felt regressive in terms of on court talent, since you naturally can't expect the type of parity mentioned above every season.
Progressively since that time the NBL has an increasingly shit feel to it which hasn't been helped by the currently four bottom teams who are downright pathetic and even the ones above them aren't exactly too flash.
