SEM v Sydney @ traralgon

Good start to this game, I'm not tipping but Sydney’s early D is average

Refs in this league call so much rubbish under the basket, let them play some D.

Kings always good value for burgers.

Very nice first quarter, both sides not great on D or free throws but entertaining game.

Just tuned in, scores close but Wild Kyle out of control again.

Looks like Browne is injured as well.

Gasol brothers would get fouled out in the nbl in the first quarter in every game, they backed you down and down. In the nbl you just fall over as a defender and you are rewarded with a foul. Basketball in the nbl is so soft.
Phoenix are pretenders.

The plus minus tells you a lot about the game, kings have a bench and SEM don't, what is the point of Qi on a roster when your starting 5 is in foul trouble and Qi only plays 1.44.

The fouls on Williams were rubbish imo. It ruins good games.

The level of stupidity especially by the SEM players has created so many fouls.

There's always some unnecessary whistle but seriously Williams and Adnam in particular are just dumb.

SEM are still close enough but don't deserve to be, Mitchell playing Adnam and Terangi at same time nearly lost game in that short period time.

Broekhoff groin injury, not good.

Foxwell doing great for SEM, far better than Kyle. One point game, 8.48 to play

Chase still beingninnthe stadium is ridiculous.

When it comes to coach behaviour this league is a joke.

While every grassroots competition struggles with behaviour this is what is on show from our best!? The NBL need to realise how they are a big part of the problem.

Commentators getting the rules wrong and naming and shaming the referee is also ridiculous.

I don't think the refs want to eject him. It’s great entertainment watching the arrogant sook make a goose of himself.

78 free throws in 40 minutes.

He had a right to complain, back to back plays, no call on SEM , foul kings. Refs got get some consistency.
Absolute cracking final quarter in spite of the refs. Bring on OT.

You call this entertainment?

Better not go double OT - won't be enough players left

What's with all the panic in O/T? Drive the hoop & you’ll get free throws. All day long

That was actually a pretty ordinary game. But one team had to eventually win. Commentators allllll over creeks nuts.

Glover plus 21, not certain why he wasn't on in last OT periods.
While it ended a cracking game, the refs got get more consistent
Kings a little unlucky not to win that
Can’t see SEM being a GF winner.
Foxwell certainly looks a prospect at both ends
Injuries look bad for SEM.

The fact the Sydney coach did not get ejected is an indictment on the league

Ever since Creek started commentating this season, he's been spoken about on broadcasts like he’s the second coming of Michael Jordan. Nut polishing 24/7.

Yes Ben, I'm not certain having current players commentating is good at all. Creek was good today but got better the more the kings bigs got fouled out.

Re Buford, he comes across as a tosser but to be fair to him his player got smashed going for layup, no call and straight down the other end a dodgy foul call on a lay up for SEM. If I’d been coaching I’d ropable as well.

Unless I missed it, Buford didn't say a single thing about SEM in the presser either. They lose in dbl OT & the petulant little twat shows zero respect

The two press conferences were like chalk and cheese. Kings want the every one is against us, Buford basically said they through it away. Nothing about SEM.

Mitchell and Creek so respectful about the game, the opposition, indigenous round and jersey. Asked about free throws fouls, didn't complain but basically want some consistency not just from game to game but in game, not real happy about now having to play Wednesday night but will get on with it.

Worth a watch, totally agree re the refs, I’ve never been on ref bashing till this season because it’s so unpredictable, some of the moving screen calls and charge, blocks are so bad, the backdown calls as well, to many floppers.

Was cracking game though.

Was a great game. Sydney are still the team to beat, but there are a few other teams still good enough to win it. Will be watching roster changes very closely. As far as refs are concerned players need to be a lot smarter in how they play. Williams had one of the silliest fouls with a hook that you will see from a player sitting on 3 fouls. I am not a ref lover but some of the younger refs we have seen coming through are ok. They just don't have enough senior refs with them.

Yeah Sydney still the team to beat, followed closely by Cairns and NZ.

Understand coaching is about getting the W's to me there is more to it than that, the game deserves more than that ie acknowledgement of others, areas for improvement etc it is interesting.

Can anyone imagine saying that a year ago? Not sure on NZs figures, but we have already won more games this season than we did the whole of last season.

Not that we're complaining, of course :)
