Sorry if my comment wasn't clear. Getting up-and-in is not called in the NBL, whereas the other top leagues around the world enforce the offensive players cyclinder.
In the NBL a high level of those fouls are let go, that's why you see the scrappiness that you don't get in the NBA or Euroleague regular seasons. That allows for a lot more clean offensive basketball.
That was obviously reinforced by the recent comments from Rayjon Tucker, to go along with those by Jae-Sean Tate and Eddie Gill and Jamar Wilson and many other imports who have played around the world.
For a comparison, look at Ben Simmons' sixth foul on Ja Morant (I'm pretty sure it was him) the other week. If that contact was called in the NBL there would be 200 fouls per game!
Now when it comes to body fouls at the basket with charges and blocked shots etc, that's where things get soft in the NBL compared to other top leagues. We have it arse-about. Allow the contact that makes things scrappy, but don't allow contact in the areas where it allows spectacular plays.
