Will the match against Iran continue? Or will you give up?

So of the non-NBA contingent:

No Thon Maker, WMW, Reath, Creek, Pinder?
All opt-outs I assume.

Surely someone like Daniel Johnson would be helpful against Asian nations?

Humphries and Baynes also opt-outs are focusing on health rather than inclusion?

Proctor busy with college?

With Broekhoff and Magnay injured.

Thon Maker and Reath are playing in China. Thought they would play since China isn't far from Kazakstan and Iran compared to Australia. Must be in their player contracts .

African qualifiers aren’t happening till February so JLA doesn’t have to play till then.

No their playing Iran in Tehran on 14 Nov

Are you sure about this mate?

Everything on social media only mentions them one game on the 12th, no mention of them playing Iran

Seems Basketball Australia is just pretending the Iran game doesn't exist right now, while trying to get it rescheduled, cancelled or moved (with good reason), but it's still on the FIBA website in Tehran.

"Thon Maker and Reath are playing in China. Thought they would play since China isn't far from Kazakstan and Iran compared to Australia. Must be in their player contracts ."

China still has a 10 day quarantine period for international arrivals, which is probably a hastle they wouldn't want to deal with.

I think there's a crisi going on in Iran, I remember on the news something to do with their government.

They should just reschedule the Iran game to Kazakstan since the Boomers are already playing there.

"something to do with their government."

the people are revolting and protesting against the Islamic Republic government fascist control of citizens and the islamic police murdering people who dare breach any of their doctrines.

islamic police have killed a few more but the people keep protesting.
incredible scenes and bravery being shown over there.

I was told that the game with Iran IN Iran will not happen due to current safety concerns (no surprise there). The question is whether this was pushed by BA or FIBA, if it was FIBA Iran will have to play it somewhere else.

100% and precious little press about it (here at least). I can't see FIBA asking/expecting any professional team to travel to Iran at the moment.

The Aus govt would be aware of the Arab spring type planning that's gone into what's happening in Iran, so you'd imagine the advice to BA would be to stay away.

Jaylin Galloway to replace the injured Xavier Cooks.
I would have thought there would be a few NBL players ahead of him but congratulations.
