I don't get the love for this guy. 4 years at Duke - 2 years riding the pine, a reasonable junior year, and a miserable senior year. Proven to choke in high pressure situations (see Hawaii touranment, NBL semis '22).

Compare to DJ Vasiljevic - same level D1 college, same time in the program, and now is a key contributor to a winning team in the NBL.

Good player, sure. But 3 years seems a bit strong.

@Dave Q you've gotta be kidding me

No one expected him to be contributing this much when he arrived 2 years ago

Just look at United's record with and without him. 31-6 across his 37 games.

He averaged 11 rebounds a game in 24 minutes in the semis. Always competing. Love him.

Yeah he's a quality player. Certainly limited offensively and was forced to try and do a bit too much game 3, but every team needs a guy that plays as hard as he does.

As a Duke fan, I wouldn't characterise his senior season as disappointing. He has limitations, but he's the epitome of a glue-guy and his teammates absolutely love him. If you expect him to be an MVP-candidate or even a go-to option on offence, you're going to be disappointed, but you don't build dynasties without guys like Jack White.

Melbourne needed to have him close to the basket more with Goulding out, JLA operating from the perimeter. Had it the wrong way around and couldn't get either of them to take the shots they wanted.
