(Weedy Slug)

Maley once again 21-19-6-1-4

Superb.
I look forward to catching up with this game when I get the time.
Congrats to the Spirit on keeping their nice run of form going.

As for Southside, yikes, what a disastrous season it has been for them.

What's the go with Wallace? She ok?

It's been disastrous because chambers is an overated coach imo.
8 season with Bulleen, nothing
3 seasons with Sydney, 1 time champs, prime Mitchell, snell, Taylor, hamson, Wilson, Nicholson. No other team had anywhere near the depth.
2 seasons with Southside, 1 time champ, 100,000+ signing in Liz

minus Cambage and...

With Liz 24ppg + Mitchell 11-2 record and the championship
Without added Rocci, Wallace, bishop 3-11 by the weekend and could finish bottom.
Cant really complain about injuries etc because every team has had these issues.

She plays both roccis together, why?
She plays Wallace only 20mins and the others 30+
Her sub substitutions make little sense.

For me, it's the unwillingness to play and develop their bench and the persistence with older players.
To think that they have had Maley, Reid, Pizzey and Rowe but none really got an opportunity there. I can’t imagine Wallace wants to be coming off the bench for long..

Wallace has Covid/is a close contact of someone with Covid.

I'm glad Maley didn’t stay at the flames under heal.
He clearly thought Froling would be better when deciding.

Froling isn't better than many. Dirty player, not a fan.

Wallace was on the bench in club kit.

@Slug: he would have known Maley was on track to steal Shyla's shine.

I think it's just he has no eye for talent, he’s been through 6 imports already
Didn’t play nakkasoglu for half the season...

I think you might be proving my point with Funda. But in all seriousness: I don't think players who know better are clammering to play for him.

Yes its evident that quite a few will be looking to go elsewhere.
If expansion is true, then he would be rebuilding half the squad.

Many times we'd often talk about a pure/purist shooter
have a look a Jenna O'hea, last nite
That is some kinda beautiful shooting style.

Is Ohea still good enough for the opals though?
35 this year and you have others like Kunek, Blicavs, Nicholson, Maley trying to make it + already you have Talbot and Allen.

Even at 35 I think O'Hea is still better than/just as good as some of the younger ones. She's got one of the best 3-point shots going and her on-court demeanour is pretty much unrivaled.

Told ya, chambers has got to go after this season.

Flyers 3 current opals, Canberra 0 opals.
Flyers 64 - capitals 106

Goriss could have played his bench last 1/4, not last 2 mins.

Would that be the boilover of the season to date?
Seriously trash effort by the Lynx from start to finish. (Young excepted obviously)

Froling superb.

If only Perth played d like they did in the last 5 mins for the whole game.

Scherf hides a multitude of sins on that team defensively and brings some structure to it. They needed leadership, poise and a whole lot less of the gambling junk D.

The D was fine (given we had no one-on-one answer for Froling).
It was our offence that was most disappointing IMO.

Maley beating the starting pf for the opals surely means she's in too.

Mitchell getting three offensive rebounds in a row and then missing all three shots summed up Melbourne's night.
