Cats @ United - Sat 12th Feb

Battle of the top two teams, pretty keen to settle down on the couch and watch this one.

Also had to do a double take when I looked at the ladder and saw the Jacks at four. WOW.

Perth to win by double figures. They'll find ways to get into the United heads and frustrate them.

Are both teams healthy and have full rosters?

If so, wildcats in overtime by 2.

Wildcats are without Hodgson so some might argue that we're above full strength tonight

Illi stopping Cotton has changed the game with help of Goulding scoring heavily.

Good game, two quality teams.

United was always making a run, ref's making it a match winning one. Norton did nothing, got hooked and it was a foul, cotton getting manhandled all ok... surely suspending perths centre in comical circumstances was bad enough... be nice to see a game without the ref's swinging it

Cracking game, refs didn't decide it.
White and Illi defensively were fantastic.
JLA great at both ends.
Not enough Travers for Perth

Cant blame the refs! JLA had no match up and did as he pleased. One team played defense and the other didn't. Too many down hill skiers for perth its no coincidence they got back in the game when they had norton wagstaff and white on showing some grit. Only for Law to come back on and throw up low percentage shots and play no D whatsoever. Agree with above Travers didn't play enough.

Enjoyable game. After that first quarter it didn't seem United had any answers for the Wildcat offensive sets, quite amazing turnaround led by hard defensive from Ili and Goulding giving some offensive punch. JLA quality throughout and White solid on defence (still a bit fumbly though).

Newley looking just about finished.

Cotton is pure class, unstoppable. Surprised Travers only had 12 minutes.

Perth fans whining about home cooking is too good not to mention!

Quality game by United, although I do think an in-form Hodgson would mitigate JLA's interior dominance and United's rebounding advantage to some degree.

Looking fwd to future matchups, I'd still be tipping Perth for minor prems with all the late home games

And is it just me, or is Homicide getting even more hyped as the years go by, he likes to start quarters with a big statement but it's ridiculous sometimes

Between him and Russell is like a competition to see who can hype in the most inane fashion

Like when Cats down by 19 but had just scored a bucket "getting the momentum back" haha dear me

And yet when Law made a terrific chase down block, the dejection was palpable.

I can stand Homicide as he has played the game and provides insight.
Russell I cannot. He is watching a different game.
At least once a quarter he will say something like he stepped out of bounds, meanwhile Hukporti has just dropped someone and has been given an offensive foul.
Hevrin is the same but no where near as bad.
For me the combo is Gaze, Santa and Homicide with Casey courtside.

Love the expert comments from Gaze who as we all know couldn't coach the Kings for 3 seasons. Yet for most people on here 'we all love Gazey'

Respect to Delly for the way he single-handedly arrested a determined choke from his teammates in the 4th. He was huge in keeping the score ticking over.

Awful middle 2 quarters by the Cats. Caved under the pressure of United's D.

Weird game that never really felt like an even contest - just alternating chunks of game in which one team had the momentum, and United held it for longer.
JLA is becoming a serious problem, which is great to see as long as your fav team isn't on the end of it.

Travers does a lot stuff you don't get stats for, he should be playing 20/25 minutes a game, I don’t think he’s at nba level but Perth need his 1%ers to win games.

I don't think with Frazier in the line up that the Wildcats can realistically win a championship over a 5 game grand final versus a Phoenix or United.

They need to go find another Mooney to bring the hustle around the basket.

Old management would have started looking at the market for a big 4 to bring in to replace frazier.

Spot on anon, there is no way they can win a series against the two Melbourne teams being that small and getting battered inside like that. The best Mooney type would be a bloke named John Mooney. Small ball centre and big ball PF alongside Majok or Hodgson.

Getting someone like Mooney means he needs to play C 90% of the time given we have Law who takes up the PF spot. Whilst I think he is fully capable of it I think a taller body would be better suited perhaps?

As handy as Frazier can potentially be in the lineup (having him means we dont need to use White), I think we need a big more desperately than what he gives us.
