Now the opals should sack her

Why would they sack her now, she will be 100% focused for the first time in her tenure. Plus, she won't have to deal with all the drama that comes with having Cambage

Sandy is an average coach and has underperformed. Bring in young Seebohm's team first system.

Below 65% win record for sandy over 1 4 year cycle. Gets the job again until the end of 2024.

Previous 3 coaches 85-95% win record.

We've gone from rank #3 to rank #2 to rank #3 and now we are looking at dropping to #6 based on next years numbers. A bad result at 2022 WC could see us drop to #8 in 2023.

Only 16 players used over 4 years (2 because of injury) but excuses of team having poor chemistry and lack of gametime before majors.

Culture issues.

Biased selections, eg sami performances n stats over 3 years in europe/wnba vs Mitchell

No changes to lineups after multiple losses to the same teams.

February will be interesting, 2 easy opponents and 1 difficult

Admittedly Ive not watched all opals games, but previous coaches had luxury of better players. Put aside the Liz stuff, if she was in team, individually she keeps us in top 3. But that ships sailed, sabotaged the Olympics, but with the talent available we should be better than what we are. There does seem a lot of nepotism and it's like any stale organisation, have a quick debrief and then continue to make same mistakes.

We wouldn't be top 3 even with Liz, proven already. We lost to Japan and France with Liz and all available,

Atm,

I’d have the rankings as

(Full strength teams)

Dec-21

USA-1
Japan-2
France-3
China-4
Serbia-5
Belgium-6
Australia-7
Spain-8
Russia-9
Canada-10

Early Post 2024 olympics prediction

USA
Japan
China
Canada
France
Belgium
Spain
Russia
Serbia
Australia

The same tired "Brondello has had worse results than the coaches who had LJ, Taylor and Co, she must be fired!"

Sandy coaches a particular style which suits WNBA and depends superstars and players filling roles. Previous coaches didn't.

We might see a different Sandy if she can break away from the WNBA long enough.

She was mostly going thru Liz and a little lost without her.

Brondello should never have been chosen to begin with, she's only there like most of them because Jan Sterling can’t see further than her nose which is stuck in the past

Seebohm should be the coach, he's the only one who has been successful long term.

Seebolm is not the messiah. And he's in Heals pocket, so if he becomes the HC get used to seeing Shyla as the Opals PG. anyone who watched the Flames v Caps game on Sunday will agree that that is a scary thought

Shyla would be an improvement over Mitchell or Lavey.

Lol you have no idea.maybe look at the 2018 u17 WC.
He wouldn't start heal at pg, it would be Lavey with Sami

Seebohm is willing to change lineups unlike sandy, uni games for example, 2016 WC.

Interesting that Sandy seems to have ditched Liz so quickly.

It seems that Sandy is close to getting the NY Liberty job in the WNBA, so we may not see her giving the Opals 100% (and whatever else they need from her) after all. @#$&!

Yeah, seems like more than a coincidence that NY's HC job suddenly became available so quickly after Sandy & Phoenix parted ways

Really would be nice for the new unified Opals to have some consistency in their preparation ahead of their home World Cup tournament.
