SEM Import

According to Matt Logue in his collum

"I'm told South East Melbourne will announce their import signing later this week- but don’t be disappointed Phoenix fans - I’m hearing the signing is an accomplished international performer who will perfectly complement the team’s roster."

Whos got the inside scoop?

I always suspected they were going to sign an import with their final roster spot, never believed the Exum talk for a moment.

Exum would be crazy to come back and play in the NBL this season. Best to stay over there refuse 10 dayers don't play in G-League either and hope a team offers him a contract for the rest of the season at some point. Just like Thon Maker played it last season after he was cut by the Cavs early in the season.

If no serious offer from an NBA team the whole season then go and sign somewhere else for the following season because at that point you won't be getting back into the NBA again which would've likely been Exum's fate if he came back here. Look at Broekhoff he'll never get near the NBA again.

The NBL will always be there for a guy like him if he wants to come back towards the end of his career, he's got to think about the next 10-12 years of his career.

How does Phoenix afford all their players?

Both Melbourne teams have massive budgets. Would be great if all clubs could show what their spending. United last season would of been a good example.

The whole Melbourne United experiment still doesn't make any sense with South East but there was a reason?

Reckon there getting mo speights
Starting following them on IG, playing in China and getting less minutes then previous season. They need a big for the bench. He also is 34 and if they have money for exum getting a 34 year old import looks odd.
I also could be overthinking it and he could be a investor? Thoughts??

Good spot on the insta follow usually a good sign of things, but yeah could be an investor or friends with the guys that own the team

Any reason why they didn't run it back with Ben Moore?

Likely Moore probably wanted a pay rise so SEM assumed they could get similar production from another import for less. Moore's still a FA too which says something.
