Over the past day, the NBL's Youtube account has had a significant rise in subscribers and views. https://socialblade.com/youtube/c/nblofficial. Even with the preseason starting, this is still a much bigger daily gain than I expected. Would this be due to the new Jack Jumpers team or other influences? Do you have any other comments on the league's social media presence?

NBL is live streaming all games on YT for those outside Australia this year, including the blitz.
Kai Sotto Filipino fanatics. They worship him like a God. It is hilarious, you only have to look at the nbl Facebook comments and YouTube comments on the Adl vs Cairns match. They believe him to be a NBA draft prospect when his name is not even in the top 100 prospects. Filipinos might be the most deluded people ever.
The boost is definitely coming from all the new Tassie Jackjumpers fans. Heard basketball is pretty massive in Tassie.
Easy with the Kai Sotto fanatic terms. That's not true. To be accurate, it should be Filipino fans. Filipinos are massive fans of basketball. Just look up the B league or FIBA with a Filipino on it, plenty of views. It is not limited to Kai. Despite the level of the PBA compared to the NBL, their numbers in viewership is not even close. It is common to see even a Filipino Sports Youtuber have 50K, 100K, 200K plus subscribers.

Does anyone else find it funny that the Op notices such a nuanced detail like YouTube channel popularity, but then asks if it's to do with the JJs?
An island of 550k people where a small number would care about basketball vs 109 million basketball fanatics that think Sotto is god almighty.
The YouTube geobarrier would make going to the YT channel useless for Aussies anyway...

KET yep obvious it is the Sotto effect. There is a fair bit of trolling occurring on multiple forums re Tas and the Jackjumpers.
