College Coaching

Does anyone know where you can find college coach vacancies and how to apply for them? Or do you just need to have contacts?

Contacts and a degree, these days masters is preferable too

Got to grind from the bottom up. Lucky to get a foot in the door at a low level school, virtually no money. Have to live off cafeteria food and bunk in one of the dormitories. Then you'll be doing the shit jobs until you have a few years experience and then you might get a bump in pay if there's an opening somewhere. Then if you make it as a proper assistant coach, you'll be on the road half the year recruiting and scouting although that changed with covid. And goodbye to family life during season, will be lucky to be home.
I advise listening to some podcasts how coaches came up through the system that weren't name players, just basketball addicts that were probably student assistants or graduate assistants. But it's all about timing, contacts and grinding.
Then the school may sack the head coach and you're out of a job as well.

Jobs have to be advertised, some people do get a foot in the door through applying for jobs from these sites but most is networking as has already been suggested.
