Consecutive NBA ROTY's. Too Early to Predict?

Not a follower of NBA generally but passionate about Aussies there, including, of course, Josh Giddey.

Is he emerging as a contender for Rookie Of The Year or is just "selective", Aussie-slanted news that is being presented to our audiences?

IF ... Josh Giddey is a contender, and IS named ROTY, that would be consecutive years that NBL-prepared draftees have won ROTY's in the NBA. Could have a serious, positive impact on our Next Stars prog.

To those who do follow that sort of info, is Josh a chance?

He'll be in the conversation I expect, but the #1 draft pick hasnt even played yet. Should be a strong chance for all rookie first team though, which will be a great result.

Should be in the conversation but has some competition:

Giddey so far 11/6/6.
Green 15/4/3
Mobley 14/9/2
Barnes 17/8/2
Suggs 12/4/4
Wagner 14/4/2
Mitchell 8/2/4

Cade yet to play.

Barnes so far imo is the front runner.

We are 5 games in people. Get a grip. It's like the guy last year who blew early over Patty being 6th man. It's a very long season. The rookie wall will hit at some stage. Right now just enjoy it for what it' worth. One or two good games, then a drop and back again. ROY talk after 5 games is ridiculous

Do us a favour and go and take a look at how long their regular season is. Way too early.

I'm going on Ladbrokes and putting $10k on Giddey immediately. Will get the best odds as season progresses. Money in the bank!!!

Perthworld; "Do us a favour and go and take a look at how long their regular season is."

Bad-hair day, Perthworld? "Way too early.", would have conveyed the same message.

Just found some answers for my question on Sporting News

So far Barnes, Mobley and Giddey are the stand out rookies. Jalen Green is a straight up chucker. Cade should get the green light to put up the stats so will probably be the favourite.

Duarte's own team will forget him once levert plays...

Barnes has been great so far, so many people thought Toronto were crazy grabbing him over Suggs but Suggs hasn't been the best rookie on his team let along being better than Barnes.
