His game translates well to the NBA. He's looking like the 2nd best player on the team, albeit an outrageously obvious tanking team. He's also not being used as well as he could be and not getting the minutes that he deserves on this kind of weak team. Giddey should be running the show. He creates so many more opportunities for his teammates. He also excels at the pick-n-roll and I don't see OKC running many PnRs, probably partly because they have no threatening frontcourt players that Giddey could run it with. It also doesn't help that his teammates can't convert so many baskets served on a platter.
He isn't playing with the same confidence and swagger as the pre-season, but he is still confident enough to attempt some ambitious moves. Spins in the lane, taking on Embiid one-on-one. It's great to watch. I've been impressed by his toughness too. When Embiid ploughed into him on the fast break in the 4th, he looked like his leg was hurt badly, but Giddey shrugged it off, knocked down a free-throw, then proceeded to cause a turnover and hit a 3 on consecutive play phases. His ambitiousness and mental toughness bodes well for his development.
