Perimeter rotations or motion offense?
Perimeter rotations or motion offense?
Several strategy questions about "perimeter rotations or motion offense" topic:
When you have an offense setup in a halfcourt, would it be more effective to start looking to pass the ball around the perimeter first, and then wait until most offense-players are starting to walk around or run around, and then look to pass once or twice, and then the ballhandler should look for a shot?
When your team is passing it around the perimeter, and guys are starting to move off the ball, except there's no passing lane for a post-entry pass, how do you transition into a shot attempt if the ballhandler isn't able to get the first step from the perimeter, in order to drive into the paint?
Is it worthwhile to move away from the ball, before the 1st or 2nd pass in a halfcourt offense? Or should a player without the ball, just either stand around and wait until the 1st or 2nd pass, or at least move toward the ball to open up a passing lane for the 1st pass?
Should a player wait before trying to postup in order to catch a pass, until after another player has already looked to drive into the paint? Would posting up too early during an offensive possession, prevent a perimeter ballhandler from being able to drive into the lane?
-Thanks for reading my list of questions, I hope that these strategems can be somewhat clarifyed.
