Would have taken Nicholson but she wasn't a reserve.
Was more so that Sara had been at camp, fully vaccinated and can play the 4 with Talbot which releases Tolo & George to focus on the 5 spot
Heal for scoring imo.

I think its a great inclusion and we're lucky she was available and ready to go on a moments notice.
Mitchell - Ebzery - Lavey
Talbot - Madgen
Allen - Ohea
Magbegor - Smith - Blicavs
George - Tolo
Whitcomb > Mitchell
Heal > Lavey
Nicholson > Madgen

Congrats to Sarah, it's been a long road for her. Keeps a great family name at the olympics. Mum and dad must be so proud.
If only they didn't play an extra scrimmage vs Nigeria, Liz wouldn’t have popped and used mental illness, lack of family, fans, friends etc around her as an excuse.
Players selected on familiarity over form.... Sandys excuse was no pre tournament so she just decided to go with last years squad from Olympic qualifiers(which we lost in btw)
And to think our squad could have been…
Whitcomb - been excellent for 2 years in Europe and wnba as a cg
Talbot
Allen
Magbegor
Cambage
Ebzery
Nicholson - one of best performers in recent years and keeps rising.
Ohea
Blicavs - has been consistent for sometime, was great for Aus in Asia.
George
Heal - exp future pg, plus scorer deep off bench against non wnba players
Tolo
Mitchell - last 2 seasons been fading, has been mediocre at fiba level since 2017/18
Lavey - avg 3 mins for Aus over 5-6 years and never done anything.
Madgen - great in wnbl/nbl1 but has never been able to get it done for Aus.
Smith - massive slide, limited gametime, injury, no development since stanford.
