To say that Rogers and Burston haven't been doing anything for us this year is extremely off the mark. They were both performing above expectations considering both were pretty raw coming into the season.
Burston has always been solid, but Rogers in particular was doing great stuff for us before he went down - and that surprised even alot of us Cat's fans. Many of us believed he couldn't play without Grace. He's been proving us wrong.
As for the game in question, the shooting percentages were due to the Cats defence. It's fair to say that the brand of Defence the Cat's have been playing over the past few weeks has been some of the most dedicated, infuriating and smothering I think I've ever seen from them in over 15 years. Possibly even better than the Murray Arnold defence of 1991.
It's not that the 6ers were shooting poorly. In fact just about every open shot they got went in (I've always hated that about the 6ers ;) ).
They just didn't get many open shots.
On the flipside, Adelaide's D has not been the greatest this year, and the Cat's had too many scoring options for them to contain. Additionally, no one on the 6ers team could cover Baily. He was way too quick, and possibly way too small. I swear he actually ran through the legs of Rees at one point!
I'll tell you something though, Maher and Farley continue to impress Cat's fans. They may not say it openly, but so many times when they come to Perth you here "ooh's" from the crowd when they nail some of their shots.
Was another great game by the Cats. And Adelaide will have fun takng out their anger on New Zealand.
