John Rille would be an intriguing one for the CoE job.
Would love to see Rupert Sapwell in the role
Pure basketball pedigree and fantastic Mentor of young people

We've lost a couple of great junior coaches to NZ with the appointment of Leonard King. Could be worth a look.

Richard Dickel bahahahahahahahah brilliant! He can't coach U10's.
Sapwell? The AIS is already full of Sudanese kids. Do we need more?
Dickel is a great coach..ask him!! Hopefully South get rid of him soon
None, it should be shut down. And given to nbl1 conferences.
Caporn is a big loss for Aussie Hoops. But yes, shut it down. Put an accreditation process in place for the state bodies and clubs to access High-Performance funding and resources. Make them accountable for it.
Centre of Excellence provide oversight and expertise to the states and NBL1 clubs. You could use the same people there now. They have the expertise, are good people, but their jobs would change. Deliver services to 100s of athletes nation-wide, and stop being a hotel/parenting service.

Andrew Cooper surely must be in the mix? 2 Gold Medals out of WA in past 3 U18AJC's, one with a talented group (2018) and the latest this year with an underrated group who just clearly outplayed (and were out coached) by Cooper.
I'd like to see Katrina Hibbert in that role. Has a teaching background and is a great mentor of young people
People mentioning Dickel and Sapwell really don't understand the role at all.
Sapwell would be good. Ticks all the boxes and overqualified. But you would not get him unless he went because he saw personal prestige or a new challenge in the role. His current role would pay more and has a greater impact on more athletes.
Not cooper. That's a silly suggestion. Need to be involved at a high level or in the BA pathway.
By all accounts word is it’s Aaron fearne.
"Truth" you have embarrassed yourself with such a derogatory and racist statement. I'm in shock that attitudes such as yours are still in our community! YOU IDIOT!
6 leaving from girls, 5 spots in. Could be fearne s daughter the sixth.
Funny when Pero, Central's new jdo for 16&18s took over Rupert's practice and kicked him off for training.
So if Pero thinks Sapwells not experienced enough, how is the COE going to?
And whilst unbelievable and funny, it is true. Central's, don't change!!!
Truth - bet you wouldn't say that to Dickel’s face you coward.
Richard Dickel? That is funny stuff.
Talks a big game, useless at Forestville and by all accounts doing similar at South Adelaide.
Yeah lets out him in charge of the next generation of talent, lol!
Honest personal appraisal of local options.
Current NBL1 options:
Rigoni.

Whitmore.
Playing experience at state level. State Coaching success (albeit U20) Experienced coach at NBL1 level. Question marks around lack of success
Turnbull.
Long success as a Junior Coach. State Coaching experience. Question marks around personality clashes/issues.
Dickel.
Kiwi. No success. JDO Experience. WNBL Coaching experience. (as temp)
Pritchard.

Honestly I think it's safe to say the next Coach isn't coming out of SA. Of that list my short list would be Rigoni, Pritchard & Wright. Simons as the dark horse.
Agreed, but they're the best options currently in bball in SA.
Agree, not coming from that list of SA coaches, most are well past their best.
Wright would be a chance (even though I'm not a fan)
Flynn will get an interview because he’s good at selling himself.
Grieger No but would make a terrific girls SA Metro head coach once Holland is moved on (like they did with Turnbull). More suited to girls / women but has a very young family. Butler has done a good job getting him involved. I think he’s assisting again with Lightning.
Simons, Rigoni, Pritchard would never be interested in such
a role.
Been a complete disaster with the North Adelaide Juniors this year due to the decisions been made by it's self proclaimed basketball guru. Not everyone believes his hype. Lost 40 players this year and many families talking about leaving at the end of the season. Couldn’t even finish top 4 in the State with an NBA Academy player in the team.
Not crediting solely Liam but aren't North top in 12 boys, 14 boys, 16 boys and second in 18 boys in the proper season at the moment?
Complete disaster might be a bit of a stretch.
Watkins, lol, he'd fit right in picking his mates kids.
492 - as opposed to the 9 round pre-season (summer) or weekend carnival that were grounds for sweeping comments of complete disaster?
The comment that north boys are presently top in all boys div 1 grades in the proper winter season is merely in response to the complete disaster comment. Not to demonstrate excitement as to ladder position after 4 rounds. Although I suspect all teams will be around the mark by the end of the season.
"Weekend carnival"?
You just lost all credibility, not that you had any in the first place.

This the same "weekend carnival" that determined which teams go to National junior classics? Just a weekend carnival though smh.
Yep. Weekend carnival. Exactly what it was.
Complete disaster!! End of the world!! Wow!!
Even if I call it State Champs (albeit at the 10 week mark as opposed to the approximate usual 6 month mark) as opposed to a weekend makeshift carnival, it doesn't change a thing.
Anyone carrying on about "complete disaster" needs to get a grip.
At least wait until the end of the proper season before posting about complete disasters.
440, I noticed the influx to North is far greater than the outflow at the moment.
Maybe some moving on feel they don't fit. I know the club had a dark history with a certain individual in the late 90s and maybe the club does not mind seeing those that were associated with that individual move on. Especially when they show their true colours and post childish, deranged rubbish on their social media accounts as they leave.
How many times do people think Liam has posted in this thread?

Guess next week is just a fortnight Carnival too, totally unimportant. Basketball is a Tournament sport. World Cup, Olympics, Asia Cup, National Championships, State Championships etc.
