.... Cadee to street shirt salesman.

Holy shit this actually made me laugh out loud! Well played.

Also, given Adnam's signing, would we all expect Le Afa to go somewhere else? Is it realistic that they could both be staying (say if Gibbo retires)?

$150 max, he's probably on bonus for merchandise sales.

Le afa won't head to breakers. He won't want to play behind the webster brothers.

Gibbo to JJ or retire
WMW would be high on JJ list now that Adnam isn't going.

He has an out clause, it resolves around Gleeson. I've heard numerous names talked about, still Kay is possible till it’s confirmed else where. Grand finals should be over this weekend, it’ll be interesting to see what transpires.

I don't think the cats would let cotton have an out clause for another NBL team NBA/Europe/other leagues sure but not the Jack Jumpers

Where are people getting these JJ rumours or Cotton out clause stuff from anyway 90% of it sounds like it's being pulled from their arse's

Yes it could be pulled from their arse's, it’s certainly rumours that I’m hearing from people that have contacts. As previous poster said, all resolves around Gleeson. Cotton probably wants him as coach, the reason it got brought up is the rumour again that Gleeson was going.

Cotton still has 2 years left on his contract with Perth, assuming it's true that he has an out clause if Gleeson leaves, do people on here seriously think he would actually exercise it? Who cares if he has the option of leaving, he's the king of Perth, he's settled there, kids born there, presumably his wife is from there etc

Even if the out clause is true it's not like he's going to use it.

I agree it's more than unlikely, the rumour I got came from someone around the JJ, I’m of the belief that they were talking it up. Will it happen 99.9 % against but stranger things have happened.

I think you've got that the wrong way around.

The JJ's is a very tight unit. Unless Brookhouse is leaking anything there is nothing coming from them what so ever.

If you were Bryce Cotton would you leave a team where :

- You have a very good winning percentage (3 C's in 5 seasons).
- You are the highest paid.
- The team's system revolves around you.
- You have the trust of the coach and team.
- You trust the team will take the necessary steps to try to succeed, ie find the right people to complement you.
- Are held in high regard by the fan base.
- Have access to the best quality $5 Nescafe Blend 43 in the whole country.

...just to give that up and go to an expansion club.

Even if the JJ's outbid Perth, at the top marginal tax rate its probably not a massive amount to justify risking that.

Ain't no way Cotton pays more than $4 for a Nescafe. He's royalty!

Bogut got shares, could Cotton get the same. Again it's highly unlikely for all the reasons suggested. JJ are talking to players, agents etc, you can be tight as you like but it gets out. Agents ask questions for there clients on who will be on the team etc, yes again down the line it becomes he said, she said but it starts at the head.

Yes Agents can talk and ask questions but what can an expansion team give Cotton that he currently does not have?

No way Cotton leaves, I'm assuming his wife's a Perth girl, so packing up and moving from a franchise that's been great to him and also telling her she's leaving family for sunny Tassie, rubbish. Happy wife is a happy life, even if there's some extra cash.
JJ's should just dream Delly retires from NBA and does a Bogut for them.
And although Gibbo maybe only has a year or 2 left before his body totally packs it in, would think he would be invaluable for a new franchise. Would have loved to have seen him back with Sixers the last couple of years, way better than Dillon and Kevvy White.
And I bet any money that they'll have better imports than Sixers start off with.
But good on Adnan, has turned into a pretty good NBL player from a fan favourite who just did a lot of running around.

Nothing really, except a new wife if he's in the market for one.

If he's really into pre-packaged iced coffee then we could still be in trouble.

Glad to see Adnam re-sign. Took yet another step up this season.

Bryce Cotton is the best player in the NBL. People who don't follow the NBL have never heard of him though, so I’d be surprised if he got a deal similar to Bogut’s. He needs to ramp up his Twitter activity instead of focusing on winning basketball games.

Hutchy to extend his ownership by taking on part ownership of the Wildcats.
Kay is not going to JJ's.
Most likely their marquee will come from outside of the NBL plus two imports, a next star, a couple of current NBL starters /6-7 men and some college grads.
Once the NBL finals are completed I think there will be some announcements start to flow. It is slightly concerning that no marquee has been announced yet.

Anon #689 good summary.

Yep Kay is heading to Japan, think they are aiming high with their marquee signing.

The language has also changed to having a next start, originally it was a definite no, now it sounds like it will happen.

Yes because the most reliable source is an anonymous post on hoops
Literally nowhere else has this rumour and your contact is?
I happen to know that Melbourne United have signed a multi year deal with Ben Simmons from a source close to MU /S
