What about Tess Heal not considered maybe too young?

Well done to those selected.
Two girls from U20 nationals very unlucky not to be included. U20s is now (or has always been) redundant. Performance or non performance at them means nothing to being selected. Remove the 20's champs from the calendar and save parents a lot of money.

I tend to agree, if they were using that as a guide there would at least 3 girls not in that squad

Heal is the backup to Loughridge for next u19s imo

Melbourne - Deeble - Loughridge
Swain - (Morgan or Brazel)
Price - Borlase
Puoch - Dunn - Pollerd
Prior - Evans

I've always preferred to go slightly smaller and more mobile.
Potter injured is a big out, and rees although 6’5, I don’t see her matching the bigs in this tournament so I think I’d front the bigs with length, athleticism and mobility which they would not expect, Puoch, pollerd, prior etc. just deny them the ball.

The u.s has 6’7 betts n 6’5 deberry.as an example. Other teams are either all below 6’2 or have clunky, slow moving centers who are 6’4-6’5.
Stopping the guards is the key, Fudd, clark etc who are elite.

Squad didn't need to be 19 for final camp, 15 clear standouts, only 3 cuts needed.
henderson, macdonald, sewell and wise have not performed at the level of the others.

Agree. 3 very unlucky girls. Unfortunately don't have the COE golden ticket. Cant have it seen that there are more deserving athletes than those who have had a large investment put into them. These 3 will make it to the higher levels. Have a great incentive to prove themselves. I wish them the best and hope they prove me right.
The COE needs to be scrapped. Too many influencers getting kids in where others are just as deserving but missing out. Invest the money back into the state programs. Sure have an overall manager, but let performances at nationals be the selection process. As someone said above, some should not be in this squad based on nationals performances alone. Would love to know what the selection criteria was - but we will never know.

1 they get to stay home with family most of the time.
2. More young players get developed at the top level 12 to 60 players
3 more gametime against stronger opposition.
4 better scouting and player selection for n.ts
5 multiple coaching philosophies, instead of just one

Even if you still have coe
We should still have

Vic/tas south nbl1 u20
Nsw/act east nbl1 u20
Sa/nt central nbl1 u20
Wa west nbl1 u20
Qld north nbl1 u20

Anyone u20 is getting few minutes at nbl1 level. Most are just training with club teams.

Canada will probably start the 6'9 Kyei.
Italy won the last euro u18s, cant count them out.
Russia has a very strong young squad. Triple bottom agers.
