Forde is looking to pursue an opportunity that is better aligned with his family circumstances and professional aspirations.

To honest, I'm not surprised, just look at his starting line up against Brisbane the other evening in a must win game, yes they had injuries but lost lots of winnable games and should be comfortably in finals contention. Smith is a businessman first and doesn’t like losing.

Could Bogut take the job ?

Well lets see who they come up with.

Will they approach Bevo and then pull the rug out from underneath him again.

Maybe Gruggan will think he is the man for the job.ha ha.

Will they shift Heal from the Flames to the Kings.Desperate if they do.

Lemanis would be good.

Bogut has high basketball iq, he might be a bit of a knob, yes, but he has shares as well. He was in Sydney last weekend, low and behold, what then happens.

Longley might be interested, they always seem to play well when he's around.

Not even waiting until the end of the season to sack a coach in his first year is not a good look.

Next season the Kings will be on their fourth head coach in four seasons, that suggests there is a problem somewhere else other than the coaching.

On the actual roster there needs to be a bit of clean out really get rid the oldies like Newley, Kickert & Weeks and get rid of Jarell Martin too. Try and bring back Casper although I could understand him bailing on this shit show now and build around Vasiljevic, Hunter, Moller, Bruce and maybe even Vodanovich.

Oh and try and re-sign Cooks if his price is reasonable which it should be after doing nothing for the last two seasons.

I'd take Shane Heal - 4 year deal. The roster will look very different next year no doubt.

Kickert
Newly
Martin
Weeks
Ware
All won’t be there - Casper is on a rumoured $500k a season, you can get something for half that price.

I get the feeling ownership not happy with forde clearly, to sack him after 1 year. The family comment is a cop out

Martin was a horrible pick up, Ware over played his hand in hero ball to often and should have been called out on it, only for it to continue.

Cooks, Moller, Glover, vasiljevic, Hunter is the basis of a good side. Newley I'd keep for experience and captaincy, Bruce as well, Get imports to fit around those guys, Ware could still fit the bill in the right system.

Cooks and Moller are out contract and will field offers from other sides, they both bring lots of positives, certainly team first players, both good rebounders, Moller can defend any position on the floor, cooks great on offensive glass.

Terrible look to sack a coach before end of first season. Definitely agree it sounds more like an internal issue than coaching issues, considering the high turnover in the role.

Shane's daughter was drafted into the WNBA (congrats Shayla) so won't be with the Flames, will she?

Maybe Shane has an 'If-my-daughter-gets-drafted-into-the-WNBA-and-I-get-an-offer-from-the Kings,-I-can-go' clause written into his contract!

I don't think his son had anything to do with it, his last season with hawks wasn’t that good and word on street is he got lethargic, didn’t push hard enough. You have to train hard to play hard. He’s still got a very good basketball brain.

Firstly I thought Forde done a wonderful job (when you compare him to the dud at Hawks last season) and how they have been able to do lots of great things under his tenure such as flog the shit out of United. I'd be saddened if he was only a single season HC.

Secondly I'm so glad that nobody has mentioned Goorj in this as he is a legend at the club and would be offered heaps to join them... and there's already rumours of him joining Phoenix.

Forde is a better Coach then Heal and Flynn.

Bevo last season at the Hawkes was not good because he had the next years coach back stabbing him on the bench.

Some players showed a lack of heart and did not put in the effort when on the court or did not want to play because of a supposed injury which was not real.

Forde has done well with what players he has had but you do not know what the team owners have been involved in all this.

At least the new coach should have input in his team selections, nearly all Sydney are out contract, DJ, Glover are the only contracted two I believe, Hunter has an option. Ware stats wise has been good but his team performance at times is questionable, Martin was brought in as a 5 but his defence could not cover that position so moved to the 4 where offensively is very good but defensively is poor.
While Forde has been ok, he has had no input into the team selections. The loss of DJ in the end was what killed any chance Sydney had of winning it. Sydney's management and Forde has got the decision right for both their futures.

Forde was the assistant already in place.

Keep in mind that there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding this season, salaries cut, players opting out, fears the season would get shitcanned.
It's possible that Forde was only ever intended to be a fill-in???

As for Gleeson, anything's possible. I think that when I heard it discussed the commentators were saying he was "good enough to be" an assistant in the NBA, not that they believed it was going to happen.
And I'm not so sure. He's clearly a good recruiter, of both players and assistants, and good at putting the right people in the right roles. Not sure how well he'd fit into another Coach's staff??

As for Asia, yeah I've heard that there are stupendous amounts of money on offer. I'm sure he's very happy in Perth, but it does happen, people move on for a better opportunity. Keep in mind that he would still be highly sought when he returned to Australia, so it wouldn't be a huge risk for him.
