Wanted - A Millionaire with an Interest in Jnr BBall

It was a sad sight at Bankstown yesterday - 6 buckets on the main court yesterday collecting rainwater that had delayed the start of play. Got me thinking - what a pity that Gina/Canon Brooks/Twiggy Forrest do not derive vanity from donating to jnr basketball. How about the Atlassian centre in Bankstown; or the Rinehardt centre in Norths? Aside from the complete absence of big names, sponsorship links in NSW is quite under developed compared to Victoria. The regional comp in NSW is not going anywhere unless the situation changes.

Do a fundraiser in your community to raise the cash to fix it.

Plenty of millionaires in Condell Park, with direct links to Western Sydney basketball.

Get your staff to do something and approach Local Politicians and maybe get some funding to do some of the work

Penrith basketball got funding and improved their stadium immensely, within a few years they may be able to host national champs. But they were in an electorate that needed votes, so hope next election its the same.

"Do a fundraiser in your community to raise the cash to fix it."

Great idea - never thought of that. Perhaps Gina will come and buy a sausage.

"Get your staff to do something and approach Local Politicians and maybe get some funding to do some of the work"

Interesting that one of first responses on this thread was to mention getting local pollies - and hence the taxpayer - involved.

Get Liz C to pay to fix it up. Tell her they will put up photos of really black skinned indigenous people along the court walls.

She will give for sure as she won't want to be seen as just a keyboard warrior!

You obviously have never been to Bankstown basketball stadium, it's a very multi cultural area.

The place been leaking ever since Cadee was a junior there.

The Issue the keep bad GM's around who get bogged down doing the same old boring admin person.
No there fault, they are normally ex NBL people or a friend of the board member. Not business leaders looking to change op's for these places.
They need to start by applying for smaller traineeship grants to start with to employ admin staff to allow the GM the chance to pound the pavement.
These places dont pay the GM's much when you think about it, but the Boards need to hold them more accountable and make tangible changes.
