SEM v BNE Apr 29

These teams have only played once this season, and the only highlight forth Bullets was Matt Hodson scoring 20.

There was a time when SEM looked like their season was up the creek without a paddle, but now, they are on a Kings Hunt. A win tonight will see them slide into 3rd and Sydney go to 4th.

Brisbane have lost their last 3 and look as stable on their feet as a clubber in the Valley about 3 am Sunday morning. Each season they tease use with early wins only to go troppo at the end.

With regicide on their minds, I think we can say that the Phoenix should fly high

As I mentioned in an earlier thread, hoping that Patterson is in better shape and wondering if RJ Johnson available yet.

It will take both to happen for Brisbane to pick up again.

We know what Patterson can bring when he is in playing shape and mind. He is already showing signs. If RJ is an up-grade on Sloan, and the Aussies play their better brand of ball, are the Bullets still a contender for the finals, at least? Not just maths-wise, will they be good enough?

Isn't it BJ Johnson? Don't think he's available till next week, could be wrong though...

Hey, any-one think that a thread for players known by their initials.

AJ (Ogilvy), BJ (was Bejan) (now, above one), CJ (Bruton), DJ (a couple), FJ (the Holden), LJ (Torano), MJ (that one), OJ (juice), PJ (sleep in them), RJ (Hampton), all ending in "J".

Well, it is quiet lately, with no NBL cup and imports staying put.

Am personally expecting an all-round assault from Creek that will leave Brisbane's playoff hopes battered and bruised.

You would spend weeks on the sideline if you elbow someone like that in the football codes. Accidental or not that is dangerous.

How come the elbow was on the side of the body AWAY from Adman Weak excuse from Gaze and umps I don't think he meant it but was unnecessary Has also cost sem a player

They called Sobey for the foul, reviewed it to see if they should upgrade it and turned it into a double foul

I do t think NBL rules allow that to happen

Adnam was called for a foul so can't get one under review

They originally called a foul on Rowdy not Sobey. Sobey got one on review

Intentional or accidental, it has to be reviewed by the nbl. In Sobey favour is it might open up an Australian spot, knock out a fellow contender. :::))))):::)))):)))))) lol.

I would suggest that's the 2nd lowest crowd ever at and NBL game. Tine SEM were out of the NBL. Good thing they have all those investors eh.

These low crowds for United and Phoenix has everything to do with scheduling. The Hub started in melbourne on 21 Feb. Since then there was 36 NBL games in Melbourne. Then post hub MU have played 7 games at JCA and Phoenix 6. 49 NBL games in melbourne in 67 days!! And you wonder why no one is coming to the games!! That's before you talk about every AFL team is in season, three A league teams playing in Melbourne, the Rebels are playing, the storm is playing and now the two female netball starts on the weekend!! MU playing on a Wednesday, a Phoenix Thursday and now MU play again on Sunday in Melbourne. I love my NBL but those stats tell it all.

#674 Victoria is at 80% attendance, which is about 8000 for John Cain Arena. No other restrictions remain - no masks required, you can buy up to 10 tickets in a group etc.

So clearly that isn't a limiting crowd factor. Yes Zodiac the Spirit days were the worst in NBL history.

If the games were at State Basketball Centre, they'd be sold out. It’s too late on a school night to get home from a game in the city

Large metro areas like Sydney and Melbourne, combined with mid week games and working from home is never going to go well for crowds. These cities have large travel distances, insane traffic congestion, and a suite of other entertainment options. Look at the sporting clubs that are playing in these two cities at the moment, with the netball commencing this weekend. Throw in music and theatre, and people only have so much spare cash for these activities.

Such a difference in SEM now compared to 2 months ago.

Last night I saw reluctance to shoot, poor shots and missed easy ones, sloppier and less motivated defence, less passing and too much dribbling, a lot of iso stuff which just wasn't working, ...

Almost like they're playing not to lose instead of playing hard to win.

Throw in after school sport and training as well, the modern family has so many things going on.

I still think the nbl have done exceptional to get the season on.
