Tom Abercrombie Most Capped New Zealand Breaker

Appreciation post for Tom Abercrombie, who tonight goes past Mika Vukona as the most capped Breaker with 355 games.

Has been an exceptional player for a long time, should break the 400 mark before he hangs up the boots. Hopefully the team can cause an upset tonight against United.

Most games played, not capped.

Correct. As annoying as when people refer to NBL titles as a premiership or flag.

That may be so but it still isn't a correct NBL/basketball term.

"Capped" is a bit of a common term used in NZ for games generally; its that Rugby influence coming into play.

It's a British term used for the number of times a player has represented their country (not club) in soccer, rugby and cricket.

A cricket term originally for the caps they would wear when fielding.
