MEL v ADL Apr 24

Adelaide venture to Melbourne to go over the trenches in into battle with the top of the table Uniteds. I'm not sure what a United is but if you woke up next to it in the morning you might want to pass on the old fake number routine..

There's a reason why Melbourne are top of the table, Perth want to do them slowly and pounce on them right in the final round. That's why Melbourne need to win. Adelaide, well they'll try to jump Brisbane by season's end, but in the meantime, Adelaide need to string four good quarters together.

It'll be Melbourne's game to lose.

Hard to go past Melb.
In great form and with home court advantage.

If this was in Adelaide I'd give them a chance, don’t think they can win in Melbourne. If Humphries plays this still could be close. Melbourne coming good at right time, McCarron to be on fire after his 4g bonus. United by 6.

Will be cheering for Adelaide.
Want top spot back and I'm sick of Melbourne getting excessive amount of home games.

With Humphries & Crocker back tonight I wouldn't be shocked if we snatched this. I know it's Melbourne and United have won 8 in a row but the Sixers have win 3 of their past 4 (w/o those two guys) and a couple were impressive wins over Perth & SEM.

Sixers by 1

With Mayberry out of the line up for Melbourne, this is the Sixers chance.

That last play was a clear charge on 4k McCarron.

Anyone see the obvious landale shoulder charge? Seems Melb have the rub of the calls during the first half. Adelaide fighting hard.

Charge on McCarron?

I was surprised that last play didn't involve a foul on Johnson, even though he was on the bench.

Sixers are genuine duds. Reasonably credentialed roster, but massively under achieved. Which club for jvg next year?

Adelaide's gone as well as can be expected. Most pundits tipped them bottom two, they’re doing a little better than that.

They have a decent run home, *could* make a run at fourth seed. Only one game each against the top two teams to go. Bunch against the Hawks.

JVG has done ok putting together a decent team in his first at bat. Seasons 2 & 3 of his tenure will be the telling points when he has had the time to better craft a playing roster. Would bet he’s lining up a new Next Star already among other things.

^^ Oh bull.
Eddy Groves did himself in.
He got too big, too quickly.
As soon as ABC hit some tougher times without proper contingency planning, they quickly became insolvent and the creditors circled. JVG had literally nothing to do with that.
JVG might not be the greatest GM, but you can't blame the guy for trying to extract as much funding from his owner as possible. Hell, I’d say that’s his job!

Wow, Perth - who essentially ONLY have been playing at RAC, complaining about other teams playing home games. Oh the irony.

Perth have played 24 games. Nine of them have been played in WA.

United have played 24 games. 18 of them have been played in Victoria.

You know nothing of how Eddie Groves went under. Expanded to 150 ABC learning centres in the USA right before the GFC hit and that rolled him. He wasn't the only one who didn’t see that coming. Ruined millions of peoples lives.

So in that instance JVG had nothing to do with Eddie going under. He did however run the Bullets at a massive loss. Eddie was happy to foot the horrific bill each year cause he loved the Bullets and could afford to do so.

Once Eddie went under there wasn’t a businessman in the country who’d touch that train wreck of a club (financially).

So in the state JVG had the Bullets when Eddie went under I guess you could actually say yes JVG killed the Bullets.

What's crazy is that United have their next 5-6 at home as well (one being a SEM home game but still at John Cain Arena)
Can’t believe how one sided this draw is favoured towards them
