Phoenix v Sixers Mar 20

The Sixers last game saw the debut of a new import and just when you thought they were heading for a 40 point win, somebody must have knocked their switch from good to bad. A game of two halves saw the Sixers play like Tigers in the first half and tabby casts in the second.

Phoenix had a great NBL Cup, but have one of their stars sitting on the sidelines for a bit sorting out some stuff. Let's hope they can bash out a few wins in the next few games. Time for players to step up.

Surely the Sixers can play four quarters and not be forequarters.

Will Broekhoff play unlimited minutes?
Will Brandon Paul go for 30+?
Will Giddey get that triple double?
Will Phoenix adapt without that #55 bloke?

Hard to call I'm going Adelaide by 4.

36s at $2.33 against a Creek-less SEM is good value.
Can Henry get the most out of Paul?

Feeling real good about this game...circumstances have given 6ers every opportunity with BP to fully charged up.. can't see anyone containering Giddey ... and pinder just might ... McVeigh will have a mini feast ... he really stepped up big...

Everything was lined up for the Sixers to beat the Breakers too and instead of beating them by 20 we lost by 45. So following that logic with Creek etc out we'll probably get hammered. One difference is unlike most of our guys BP looks like he's got some heart.

Be fair to Pinder. In the last few matches, he almost got a block, almost got a put-back, almost got a steal, almost got a layup and almost got a 3 pointer. Maybe next time..

This game is a must win.

Sixers need to win 13 games of the 19 they have left to be in contention for playoffs.

If we now have Paul, and cannot win against a Creek-less SEM with an under-prepared Broekhoff what are we doing?

Don't let some scrub like Adnam burn us.

Wouldn't mind Pinder stay as the starter and have Humphries play big minutes off the bench once he's back, defense looks so much better with Pinder starting and his shooting helps the offense.

I was watching and telling myself it's going to happen again.

That was a disgusting stretch of execution from the 4th quarter onwards.

There were very few set plays, those that were done were easily blown up by the likes of le'Afa and Adnam.

Its hard to blame Paul for the last couple of possessions, the team were happy to ride his back on Hero Ball (as we used to do with Randle), we loved those 2 late iso threes so we can't berate him on the last misses. However much has to fall on Henry AGAIN.

DJ again goes passive, he was treated well by the refs which probably made things worse as he expects just to flail his arms and get calls.

This result is with no Creek and Broekhoff playing a dozen minutes @ 1/5 shooting.

If we lose against Perth we have to string six winsto make the playoffs.

I don't see it happening.

GDon't know what else to say really.

Someone's got to play defence, DJ not interested got killed by Wetzell tonight. Wetzell's two best games of the season have been against us. DJ has too many bad offensive games these days to offset his terrible defence. He can't even jump anymore.

We need a coach to have the guts to bench him he's a liability, we can't keep doing this shit year after year. It screwed our whole team composition last season because we couldn't start DJ & Griffin together.

Either good old Jenny the sideline reporter fluffed up what she thought was play call, or Sixers majorly f#@ked it up. I reckon the latter. What the hell was that??? Made a few shots but was a contested 3 the best he could think of?
And what leadership has been on display to stop these fadeouts, none! Don't worry about who should play more out of Pinder or McVeigh, how shit the initial imports were, how out of depth the coaching is, how much the sun shines out of Giddeys arse. Who's the leader? Once again DJ goes missing. Absolute rabble! Would honestly rather have Teys on in 4th quarter and overtime than most of these prima donnas.

Wetzell was tearing DJ a new one yet Pinder gets the blame? DJ 3 boards tonight too. How many times does DJ have to get smoked for people to wake up?

SEM had no Creek, no Sykes and a banged up Broekhoff, Sixers leading all game yet they put us to the sword in OT.

We'll probably lose by 50 in Perth.

No one ever accused DJ of being a good defender and yes, he is majorly responsible today as well. Unfortunately he is a necessity on the offensive end considering the makeup of this particular roster. Pinder is shocking on both ends - no up side

"We'll probably lose by 50 in Perth." Yep probably. The worst part is that Adelaide had "hand picked" players by JVG. When (again) will he be accountable. Bullets had shit loads of someone else's money and no one cared. Tigers, Kings and now the 6'ers. In most cases a fail. Yet he still gets a gig.

The Sixers are still in good shape. Once we get Brandon Paul out of quarantine we will be unstoppable. It is always going to be hard in Melbourne against a team with three Boomers, four if you count an in-form Adnam.

Let JVG be judged through his third year.

It's not as though he came in with a clean slate and could sign whoever he wanted, there was some carryovers.

Got Giddey and Humphries. Bit the bullet early and ditched Sloan for Paul. Three solid signings. Humphries missing has been huge, as has the absence of a second import for a bit.

Pinder hasn’t fit though. And Crocker hasn’t wowed in the import spot

Plenty of people called Adelaide as a bottom two finisher prior to the season. They’ll be overachievers if they finish close to a playoff spot.

Agree, while Paul hasn't trained much yet, we need to get him involved early. Even if nothing else than to draw the defence. He is smart enough to get open and good enough to score or find an open team mate, but needs to touch the ball.

He hardly got a touch in 1st half. Don't know how much of that falls on him and how much others.

He was logical go to for last 2 shots in regulation, but how can we not have a go to play to get him any type of open look on either shot.

I'm sure Cotton would have had a much more open look on both shots because would have had go to plays for the whole team to get him free
