Perth v Cairns

Fresh from their NBL Cup win, the Perf Pussycats can place the Cup next to their 10th* flag. Something tells me RAC Arena might as well be named "rack-a-rena" as they put the snakes on the torture rack and turn that handle.

Pussycat fans have missed their 'ball, so expect the Arena to be as full as possible, all hail Supreme Leader McGowan as he gets the photo opportunity he needs. Any dissenters to be sent to the Wittenoom mines for re-education.

It's hard to see the Cats drop this one, except if I tip them to win...

It must be really difficult for Kelly to watch this team give up so many easy baskets. Kelly was a terror on the defensive end in his playing days and a serious hard arse. His battles with Andrew Gaze are the stuff of legend. It's time one of his team knocked someone on their rear end to show they are not a pack of softies.

There talent is poor, how many of those guys get into other teams other than their imports. Imo Kelly can coach, he's just got look for more players of his style, play defence and offence. He’s trying to make the Noi, Djeric, Deng, play defence and it’s not their game naturally. Newbill is sorely missed.

Vodanovich would of been a better pick up than Blagojevic.
Same with Bruce better than Kenny.

Who's making these signing decisions? First it was Fearne that couldn’t get it done, now it’s Kelly? Can these guys actually coach but are hamstrung by the powers of the board? When does the board, specifically the GM finally have to answer some questions about their recruiting and culture?

Beecroft has been at the top for over a decade now but it would be more of a money issue than board. Making the playoffs half of the time and GF appearance twice is probably over achieving based on their spend as a community-owned club.

Yeah saying it's a money issue is one thing, but minimum wage to 100k is still available. So cairns not doing a good enough job to find these guys has nothing to do with budget.

I think there are a whole lot of issues at Cairns. Starts at the top and Beecroft is an anchor. I am sure Spacecams problem is the realisation he signed for 2 years and was then surrounded by players that wouldn't get a game on most teams. Kenny is a joke, Jawai turns up one in ten games, Krslovic way too slow up and down the court, Mirko lacks defence, and Ngatai should never have been signed. Don’t get me started on Kelly, another Taipans coach determined to ruin an up and coming player’s career ( King) by leaving him warming the bench.
