Earnest Ross to bearcats

NBL1 | NBL1 Player Signing

The West Adelaide Basketball Club are thrilled to announce the signing of Earnest Ross Jr to our NBL1 Men's program!

After graduating from the University of Missouri in 2014, Earnest moved to Australia to begin his professional career, joining the Perth Wildcats for the 2014-15 NBL season.

Following an injury interrupted NBL season, Earnest was drafted by the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G-League.

Since then, Earnest has also starred in the New Zealand NBL, Danish Basketligaen, Qatar Basketball League and Australian leagues, the SEABL and SBL (now NBL1 South and NBL1 West respectively).

Most recently, Earnest participated in the NBA G-League with the South Bay Lakers.

Ross is a key piece for the Bearcats as we embark on our inaugural season in the NBL1 Central, which also marks the club’s 75th year.

We hope to see you at the Port supporting our Men’s and Women’s team in our opening round versus Centrals on Saturday night, April 10.

West must have deep pockets to compete with the player payments offered in the West and Victoria

I have only seen him in his short nbl career. Can someone who has seen him in SBL or SEABL give a rundown of the type of player he is. How good will he be in the SA league?

Going on the few times I saw him play in SBL my opinion is that he is capable, has huge ego, easily upset with a bit physicality, and easily distracted. He could do things few SBL players are able to do but not consistently. He played in a team full of massive egos who were able to display remarkably consistent choking in big games behavior over a number of years.

Would've been a great stage for West if guys like DeSantis, Thomas, Kubank and Co were still around.

Don't think Forestville will be as dominate as they have been in the past. Looks like Simo will have to prove he's a real coach without an endless budget and cheque book to buy a premiership?
