Would you prefer a USA v World All Star Game?

The All Star Game has lost its mojo. If it was a World v USA game would you be more interested? Alternatively how else can you make the East v West ASG more appealing and less like a Harlem Globetrotters exhibition.

A hypothetical World team would be top heavy with solid reserves:

Luka Doncic
Joel Embiid
Giannis Anetokoumpo
Nikola Jokic
Rudy Gobert
Ben Simmons
Paskal Siakam
Domantas Sabonis
Dennis Schroeder
Rj Barrett
Lauri Markannen
Karl Anthony Towns

Team USA

LeBron James
Steph Curry
Kyrie Irving
Damian Lillard
Anthony Davis
James Harden
Kevin Durant
Jalen Brown
Russel Westbrook
Kawhi Leonard
Jayson Tatum
Donovan Mitchell

I think part of the problem with game in its nature is that players are after a break during their long season so they want to take it easy but fans and the nba want it to be treated like a big playoff game, so ultimately I don't know if the game will ever be 'fixed’ if you will.

However I will say the last few ones (ever since they introduce the captains format have been more enjoyable then the few before, I especially remembering last years was quite good

Isn't this what the NBA did already in 2019?

NBA All-Star game was one of the best games of the year last season with the Ehlo ending, so I'd have to disagree with it losing its mojo.

Beyond that there's no way an American league would limit the amount of American players for an All-Star game to a maximum of 50%.
The players having the best season regardless of place of birth makes for a more entertaining viewing experience in my opinion.

I'd agree with this - the NBA All-Star weekend was supposed to showcase the best American talent, which was ONLY talent all those years ago. I see the rising strength of the rest of the world threatening that.

I can't see the NBA powers daring to risk a team of locals losing to a World team (especially not consistently), because the fans (and the sponsors) would walk away. American fans are very parochial and tend to be embarrassed by (and so ignore) their unsuccessful national teams.

Tbh there are enough non-American stars that this would be better than an all star game.

Do it each year. America vs the world baby!

Would be fun to see but the above statement says it all. In saying that they all might be a bit more competitive with that extra pride on the line.

Be great if the NBA could do World All-Stars against USA All-Stars. I remember the NBL doing the Aussie All-Stars against the World. 2007 and 2008 All-Star games were really fun to watch. The East vs West format wasn't as good when the NBL brought it back in 2013.
