I'm certain Trist had direct contact with a family member, but would have been around the team. Surely Trist didn’t come away from his meeting and say to all nz players and coaches stay away I’m going to be covid risk. For fu.ks sake his club said it was fine. He would’ve gone about his normal routine.

Please explain to me how nz and now Adelaide are not the same risk as him as well as coaches staff and refs.

You have to remember Trist's family member isn’t positive for COVID so it is only direct contacts

So the only reason Trist had to stand down is because they are going to Perth. Get Perth to the east coast like all other sides that have been on the road since Christmas.

Man Trist came back to Oz with a great reputation and played in the SEABL and then stank it up from his first game here. How is in the NBL to me is simply amazing.
How any NBL side can consider him NBL quality is simply even more amazing.

Yeah, it's actually 6 games in a row at this point, they'll get screwed over in the backend though (although maybe with longer breaks). Somebody's gotta host teams while they wait out time until they're allowed into Perth, since WA's not letting anyone in unless they've not been in a state that all but 2 (themselves and Adelaide) are supposed to be based.

Anyway I think Perth will end up playing New Zealand 4 times in a row in Perth after they're done with their home games against SEM that might last them until the bubble messes things up (or buys them time until the country is opened up again).

If you think he can play or not is irrelevant, the point is Trist could've played and continued to play anywhere in Australia except Perth. He was stopped from playing in Adelaide due to nz going to Perth next. Seems totally unfair on Trist and nz. If Perth want home games change the rules to comply with other states or get on the road like nz, SEM, Illawarra, Sydney and Melbourne.

I can't believe people are suggesting that an entire club should have to relocate and the schedule revised again just so Trist could play.

#320 exactly. WA's rules are WA's rules. Wildcats do not make them and the NBL are the ones constructing the schedule. Abide or you have to quarantine. It's unfortunate but kind of simple. AFL managed to do it. A-League have managed to do it. Big Bash have managed to do it

NSW and QLD might become "Low Risk" (like Victoria is right now) that still means teams from there have to self-isolate for 14 days if they go to WA. So for the NBL nothing really changes. Need to wait for WA to lower them to "Very Low Risk" (like SA, Tasmania and the territories) for it to matter for the NBL.
