Jack Jumpers coaching candidate

Hey you blokes are throwing names around for the future Head Coach of the Jack Jumpers. Have a look at American naturalized Australian Ty Harrelson. He currently is Head coach of Men's roster at Wayland University in Texas, has had success as Player / Coach of the South West Slammers in the Western Australian competition. Read his profile on linkin and other platforms. He is young, committed and passionate. He has strong connections with some members of the Boomers coaching squad as well.

• Tasmanian Hospitality Association CEO Steve Old

• Launceston councillor and Tornadoes president Janie Finlay

• CEO Tasmania Chamber of Commerce and Industry Michael Bailey

• Beacon Foundation chief executive Scott Harris

• Tasmanian communications consultant and company director Keryn Nylander"

Anon #403 disagree there are some solid people in that post.

Beveridge, henare, Caporn, handy, stewart, Simons, jantke, Bruton, brondello, hammon, schueller, flavell, mcmains, coronel

Schueller - heavily involved in Vic country then ast coach with MU

Bruton - CJ has coached in his own right and been ast with NZ and others

mcmains - has G league experience, player development, ast NZ national coach.

henare - rate him as a coach both in NZ and Japan

brondello - would be a great get, huge playing and coaching experience. reckon she would be real asset for this new franchise

handy - ast nba /g league coach would be great with a new franchise and could step back to NBA

Just because you do not know them does not mean it is a legit list there are some reputable substantial names there that will ready to head the new team.

Personally I agree the JJ's could be on the front foot more with comms but I'm enjoying the ride and intrigue.

Anon #467 both you and I do not know who are contenders on that list. Yep Handy may have been ruled out but if they are going through that list plus others I have faith they will get a good Head Coach.

Both of us do not know who is a serious candidate, who has ruled themselves or been ruled out. As I said previously I have faith in Brookhouse conducting a thorough and productive process for the franchise.

Yes the Jackjumpers could improve their communications could allay some but do not think it would stop others having a go if they were updating every second day as some want.

Some will have a crack what ever is happening to try and show they have some sort of knowledge but doing so does not show you have any.

LK certainly has been good for the nbl, but Tasmanian basketball has pushed for nbl team and Larry saw opportunity. If the huskies had not exploded and been patient instead of racing off to nznbl and tried to work with Larry it could've had a team already. Bartlett has been pushing Tasmanian basketball for a long time.
So yes LK has been good but there has been a lot push from others.

"Bartlett has been pushing Tasmanian basketball for a long time". He and a couple of other people who think they are more important that they are would be the only toes that LK would have stepped on. Play a role or go do something else. Without Larry there is no NBL in Tas. Without a coach with some credentials there might as well be no NBL in Tas. Hopefully Larry can step on the peak bodies toes and get them to operate in the best interests of the sport as well.

Tassie needs an identity someone the locals can relate to. Not some outsider like Roth. I certainly would hope that Stewart got an intervieww seeing as he's the highest progiled basketball/ coach that Tassie has ever produced.
