Ingles family take out full page ad to thank Jazz owner



For any not aware, the Millers sold the Jazz recently to Ryan Smith, co-founder and CEO of Qualtrics. Larry and Gail Miller (car dealerships, etc) originally bought 50% of the Jazz in 1985 for $8m, then the remaining 50% for $14m soon after. Smith bought a majority stake in the Jazz (and stadium and G-League team) for $1.6b. The Millers will maintain a minority stake.

Classy by Ingles they've made him a very wealthy guy after picking him up off the waiver wire essentially as a buddy for Exum when the Clippers cut him.

It's always made me a bit sick how much they bang on about the Miller family and their ownership of the Jazz. They've always tried to make it sound like some humble 'mom & pop' thing even back when Malone & Stockton were playing.

No other NBA team tries to deify it's owners as much as the Jazz have always done despite other NBA teams being owned by a family for longer probably ties into how religious the state of Utah is being the home of Mormonism.
