Will Weaver likely leaving for the NBA

On NBL Overtime (NBL Facebook page or YouTube) Liam was saying that Weaver is likely to be either a Head coach or assistant coach in the NBA next season.

I personally think it's a real shame to lose a great basketball mind, great coach and a great developer of talent.

Adam Forde to possibly step in as head coach for the Sydney Kings.

New Orleans is saying it's either him or Van Gundy. Probably Van Gundy. But they should have grabbed Weaver. Hope they don't. He's a Class Act.

I would imagine its a case of Van Gundy or Will, but Van Gundy is a high chance of the Rockets job so I would imagine should Van Gundy get that Rockets one Will has a decent chance to land the NOLA job.

Will Bogut attempt to latch on with Weaver if he gets the NBA gig.
Have always seen Bogut as a bit of a Pelican.

Can see him as an NBA assistant coach, one of many with a specific focus, but can't see him as head coach material with just a 2 seasons head coaching (D League and NBL) and losing in the GF both leagues.

That is correct, being a Magic fan I really like SVG he's a great coach.

Time to find another sport then, end January the virus won't magnificently disappear. Better get the premier league on Optus sport and give basketball away, at least I’ll something to watch and the money is less than season ticket.

Heal is strategically astute, which you can gather from his commentary during the games. Also experienced, a Sydney icon, and good in the community. Just a few boxes he ticks.

In relation to Weaver, I think what the insiders are hinting at is that he'll get a role with Oklahoma City Thunder.

So astute is Heal that he got relegated to being a sideline reporter when relieved of commentary duties.

I don't believe he got relegated, but the NBL went with the Melbourne hub this year, so he did the on-court stuff.

New on @ESPNAusNZ: Will Weaver is currently in quarantine in Oklahoma City, sources told me and @WindhorstESPN. The Sydney Kings head coach is among those in the running for the Thunder's vacant head coach position.

Who would have signed up because of Weaver? I'm sure they're willing to tear up contracts and start again when most teams have nearly filled out majority of roster.

I know every player and they all signed up because of weaver. What, you don't think players care about who coaches them? Maybe in highschool. But professional s are putting their careers on the line.

Players signed because of Weaver and his US connections, DJ clearly said so in an interview, Glover also went there because of Weaver, there are others also. Kings could be asked a few questions by players managers.
