Will Weaver candidate for Pelicans Head Coach job

The Sydney Kings coach Will Weaver is referred to as a 'dark horse' candidate but he's in the mix to replace Alvin Gentry at the Pelicans. Weaver and Pels GM Trajan Langdon have a relationship from their time together at the Long Island Nets in the G-League.

Well he's got experience with dealing with an often injured star player and not meeting expectations.

Pelicans could use his calmness. It's his best attribute.

He might just get it. My NOLA cousin was asking me about him and says no-one really wants the Pelicans job and they don't have the cash to splash for a big name coach.

Sounds like the NBA's 36ers.....

He won't be offered it first, but he might be like a fugly chick at a disco, the one who goes home with you.

Smartest thing the pelican s could do. He came in really late last year and set the league on fire. Casper goes 2 for 17 in first game and they would have won championship this year. Most interesting and intelligent guy in our league. Best interviews by far. Plus he doesn't dress like the other hillbilly coaches we have in nbl. Although I hear the surfing in new orleans sucks.

Stephen A: why wasn't this black coach hired over a hall of fame legend who has one of the highest Bball iq’s!!
Sure the black card trumps the can coach card????

^ Don't be mentioning that rubbish on here, Chauncey Billups is the favourite for the pacers job yet hasn't been an assistant anywhere. At least Steve Nash was an assistant at Golden State and a favourite of Durants

Steve Nash was a player development consultant at GS. He was never and assistant coach

No you're right he was never an assistant coach but he does appease the biggest star on the team and keep him happy. LeGM has chosen many coaches throughout his career so what's another player doing it.

Na its racism! Pure racism.

I demand equality for coaches! Lots of black coaches need to be hired! It's a glaring issue.

Same with the players, there should be more equality when it comes to play...... actually sorry never mind.
