Gotta love David Stern, effectively telling a bunch of grown men what they can and can't wear away from work.
There's a good think-piece on this topic here, including a shot of Tim Duncan looking thoroughly daggy in clothes which won't be allowed under the new rules.

I was with Eddie all the way until I read this little nugget in his bio on the right of the page:
"NBA all-time leading scorer among players with no All-Star appearances".
Like, isn't that a nice way of saying he was really good at being average? :)

Reminded me of this previous thread.
Eddie's take on things sounds very old school.
If Stern gets this rule in place, what's the next progression?
Reverting back to the short-shorts ala John Stockton, or making Chuck Taylors the only shoe allowed in the NBA?

Things I Think The NBA Is Not Worse Off For Having Disappear:
- John Stockton-style shorts
- Chuck Taylors
- A jumpball at centre-court after a made basket
- Two-handed set shots

All coaches should be forced to wear red sweat shirts!
It would be interesting to see if they ever enforced this on the court, eg Allen Iverson without headband, armsleeve etc. If they're trying to take away the 'gangsta' image, that would be the better place to do it, because the kids are more influenced by seeing their favourite players wearing armbands during play than seeing them wearing baseball caps and jeans after the game.
