If the Wildcats were going to use their third import spot on a centre to start over Brandt, they would have wanted to have grabbed someone better than Hunt.

Yet they still got Hunt, someone who wouldn't have replaced Brandt as a starter. So you're really trying to say the Wildcats told Brandt he'd be a backup to a centre that they didn't yet have on their radar, Brandt left, then they signed someone worse than him?

I'd be more inclined to believe that Brandt was told they'd be recruiting a centre as their third import so his starting spot and minutes may be up for grabs, in which case he made the decision to leave instead of work for it. Disappointing but his choice in the end. Cats still won a title without him.
