Good move for both parties.
As the article says, he had a breakout last season, and was very important for them off the bench. Should be a solid part of their lineup for years to come.

Expect a lot more of such announcements as we close in on the start of FA.

Good signing for Sydney.
I'm sure a handful of others will sign on with current teams before July 1.

Nice signing. You would think Bogut would have to give some sort of firm decision by free agency to see if they chase a five man import as well as a point guard. Ware and Cooks as well.

What kind of money would a reliable back up pg like Bruce demand?

I doubt the journeyman demands anything. I'd suggest just signing is a win for him

Meanwhile, Hawks have no one signed because the NBL won't green light the ownership group that's been ready to buy the club for months.

The NBL has an obligation to find the right owner for the Hawks, not some cashed up bogan and his NBA sidekick.

I'd think a cashed up local and a future nba big money earner would be a magnificent starting place.

The only bogan is #296 who’s probably never achieved anything in his life.

Are #295 and #296 The same idiot?

Obviously the NBL disagrees with you that they'd be good for the league.

Solid back up option.

So the Kings are looking like
Import / Bruce
? /
Newley /
Moller / Kicks
? / Hunter

Hopefully Bogut back, maybe Didi as a 2-3, then an import 2-3 OR CG43?

Might be an idea that the NBL works out when the NBL season starts.

Teams can still recruit regardless of when season starts.

Bruce knows his role and plays it very well. Rather have him than a Cadee who launches everything instead of getting it to the right person, can get hot but can get freezing in the same time.
Good roles player just as important as stars nearly in terms of league in current state.

Bruce plays reasonable good D, Cadee not so much.

#299, you got inside information that the nbl agrees. Nbl could be waiting on Ball for a hook up to announce or just waiting for the most advantageous time.

Yeah, they're waiting for a hook up.

Yes, the much more talented brother, who LOLed at the money offered by NBL clubs. Moved to the US to work with his father-in-law instead.

Did he? I seem to recall that he pretty much got himself blackballed in the end.

I think his attitude was linked to the fact he had a lucrative backup opportunity in the US.

For those suggesting Didi as an option for the Kings along with 2 imports....surely you can't have the same player as a Next Star 2 years running?

Reply #808335 | Report this post

Who knows? You'd think you couldn't have an already drafted player as a NS but the league bent the rules to suit Sydney so you never know.

Healthy Plumlee Vs Injured Bogut. If they load managed Bogut you would probably take him, but having Plumlee for a full season and training camp, he wouldn't be far behind. Both limited on offence except Bogut a much better passer, other key categories there's not much difference, big defensive bodies who can rebound and block shots. If he wants to stay in the country and take less money theres bound to be a few clubs wanting him. Might even fit with DJ.

Plumlee wasn't a game changer as advertised but was brought in midseason, had to learn system and learn the league. Not easy especially for a big. Team was set up for Cotton and Kay, hard to come in and dominate when you're told to defend and rebound. His whole career has mainly been that role player. People bitch about refs and rule interpretations all the time, imagine a player brought in as a replacement at last minute.

Import, Bruce
Goulding, ?
Newley, ?
Moller, ?
Import, Hunter.
Possibly Didi covering the 2/3 and Kickett the 4. Newley could cover 2 and Moller 3 as well.

How'd this turn into a Wildcats thread, or have I been away too long and forgot how it works?

Was great to see Bruce come back... Really great role player who is able to step up when needed... And a really lovely guy off the court as well, which is always great...

They were trying to turn a thread about the Sixers all-time best team into a Perth thread too just ignore them.
